And what's wrong with that? It might not be your cup of tea, but there are many great films that feature unlikable protagonists or unpleasant subject matters. 12 Years a Slave or Requiem for a Dream comes to mind. Both are bravura. I never need to see the former again, however, as it was so relentlessly unpleasant.
Actually, didn't the first film follow a book - this one - which was written from interviews with survivors? If so, I would expect the newer film to stick pretty close to it, in order to also take those interviews into account.
Yes but im talking camera angles and everything. You could have just subbed the scenes from one directly into the other. We can both read the same passage from the same book describing scenery but that doesn’t mean our brains will create the same exact picture.

Yes, that's what everyone says. I can't stand either of them and have never been able to even finish LoA, and I've tried several times, since it's supposed to be so amazing.
You might already be woke (not sure why it's in quotes). Woke is simply an adjective that means "alert to and concerned about social injustice and discrimination." All reasonable, compassionate humane people, I presume, should be concerned with social injustice, bigotry, and discrimination, so there you go.
