The Fort is not a normal "Camping" trip per say. To instill camping take him to a local state park. I love the Fort but it's not what I consider "real" camping, heck you can't even have a campfire. Ok Now let the Flaming begin![]()
This is not a flme, you are correct, sort of. Everybody has a different idea of camping. Some of our friends laugh when we tell them we are going camping. So what we have a shower, bunks for the kids, 3 TV's, AC/Heat, etc. Many say we don't camp so we say we are going RV'ing. Call it what you want but we have fun.
We use to go camping by some people's standards, which included hiking into the mountains, not seeing anything for days, sleeping under the stars, etc. Try that with kids and see who survives, because I doubt someone will make it out alive.

With that said I have seen several different types of state parks and I am sure there are some that many would not consider camping, like the ones with paved pads and full hook ups. Either way it goes have fun, call it what you want, and don't worry about what others think.
