Combination of popularity, number of rooms, and time of year and point cost and view may or may not be a factor depending on rooms:
1. GVs anytime of year can go quick at the 11 month window. Vast majority of members really never go for GVs because of the enormous point cost, but there are very limited numbers and a significant enough minority of members who always want GVs that they fill them quick.
2. AKV concierge can also go quickly at 11 months any time of year. There are only 5 two bedroom lock-offs (thus 10 rooms possible). Likely, the number that want concierge is less than those that want GVs but with so few rooms they often go fast.
3. AKV value: limited number, low point cost but smaller rooms. Signficant demand year round but there are actually many times when value can be found at 7 months. One thing about AKV owners is that most actually bought to always get savanna view rooms and not value.
4. BWV standard view: only 20% of the resort, view is OK and essentially you can get boardwalk stay for cost close to OKW. Thus, high demand year round although many have gotten lucky at 7 months although seldom during a high
DVC demand time.
5. BWV boardwalk view: preferred point cost but one of the best views in WDW and only about 15% of the resort. Some might get lucky at 7 months but seldom for any high demand times.
6. BLT standard view: only 11% of the resort. BLT is still a resort developing any pattern but it looks like standard view there may become the hardest thing to get anywhere. Already have been reports of members not being able to get it when calling exactly 11 months out (first day or two wanted not open because someone calling earlier at 11 months out from date arrival has already taken those days as part of the end of their trip). Cause is likely multi-faceted. Large numbers purchased at BLT to always get standard view. Many are now finding that MK view, if you are stuck on a lower floor, is just as bad as standard view and thus are becoming standard view fans even though they started out wanting to be MK view fans when they bought. Still many have reported getting it at 7 months but likely that will dry up in the future as the resort sells out.
7. BLT MK view: only 19% of the reosrt but looks like it will have high demand year round blocking out anyone at 7months much of the year. Nevertheless, everyone who reserves MK view will be doing so with trepidation because of the possibility of being stuck on a low floor which stares straight at the parking lot and thus demand may temper somewhat.
8. VWL and BCV in general: because they are smaller resorts there can difficulty getting them 7 months out many more times of year than other resorts.
9. High demand DVC times: there are times of year when you may find nothing anywhere at 7 months out or only SSR or OKW because they are inordinately high DVC demand times. Christmas week is the tops where you really need the 11 month window for anything and New Years Eve is the highest demand night of the year. Easter time and time right around July 4 also big. Other holiday periods can be the same. Month of December in general is very high and October (food and wine fest) is close to that stage. Spring break weeks other than the two Easter weeks can fill but often things can be found at 7 months.
