???'s about Requests & Staying DVC

We are renting points this year for the very first time and I was wondering if someone could tell me if you can make room request when staying DVC? The rest of my family is staying in a 2BR Savannah View at AKL on points and we are staying in a Value Studio at AKL and would like to be as close to them as possible. Can we make that request and if we do, how likely is it to happen? My little girl is 6 and her cousin is 2 and we want to be able to prepare them if they aren't going to be close.

It depends, is the 2 bedroom in Jambo House or Kidani Village? Value units are only in Jambo (the original AKL building), if their unit is in Kidani, you will not be near each othe at all, it is quite a long stroll between the two buildings.

In Jambo, the Value rooms can be most any view, they are a little smaller than the standard rooms there, and the value rooms are kind of dispersed around the 5th floor. This is because the villas in Jambo are retrofitted into space from regular hotal rooms and suites of the original Lodge. If both reservations are for Jambo, you'll both be on the 5th floor, but placed anywhere on that floor.

Thanks for the information Chuck. We are both staying in Jambo house so I there wouldn't be a problem there. I just didn't know if they would take the request to be near each other since we are both staying on points. I thought that I had read before that if you're staying on points that you don't get a lot of requests granted. I didn't think this would be that big of a deal though and figured that people must ask to be close all the time.

Have the person you are renting from put the request on the reservation. They may or may not be able to meet the request, but it doesn't hurt to have it on the reservation. It should be on BOTH.
