Hi all,

We (DH DS-3 and myself) just got home on Thursday, Sept 27. We already booked to go back in Sept 2008. I can't help but think that this is the most cost efficient way to go. If you look at the $3,500 we just spent and the upcomming Vacation price, well that is half the cost of the club.

Anyway, I don't need any convincing about joining but I do need info about when to set our points renewal date, which home resort is the best for us or rather how to figure that out for myself. What are the member perks (how much are the annual passes for adults and kids). All that good stuff that you guys know and I don't. Gimme the good stuff. Thanks in advance!!!

Forgot to say that we usually stay at a monorail resort (we wont when we join) and that we like traveling in the off season (like Sept)when the lines are the lowest. We are planning to have another child soon as well

Well, you're asking for a lot of information with this post! :)

If you think you will mostly travel in September, then you'd want a UY that starts right before September. I'd say any summer month UY would work fine for you. Keep in mind that the contracts are for a long time, and while you plan on September now, you will probably move to other dates as the kid(s) get into school. So maybe an April UY would work well for you.

This is really a personal question. There are many factors that go into choosing a home resort such as how important you rank things like location, theming, dues cost, length of contract, etc. My only advice is to find something that your DH and you prefer. While you might think you're buying this for the children, you will actually spend more years with them grown than you will with them as little ones.

Perks come and go with DVC. I wouldn't buy based on that. Yes, there are nice current benefits such as the $100 discount on AP's. But that might be gone tomorrow. The core benefit of DVC is the ability to "prepay" luxury accommodations on-site at WDW. If that's enough to convince you, then any perks will be gravy. :)

By the way, given your vacation plans and the places you normally stay, I think you will find DVC to be a great fit for your family. Especially if you stay in the 1BR with the washer/dryer and additional space.

Good luck in your decision process! :)
