rv / tent site

we are joining friends who have a motorhome with a tow car for part of a weeks vacation. we will be tent camping and driving our car as well. 2 people in their party and 3 in ours. Can we book just one campsite for all of us or do we need two campsites?

Hi,

You didn't specify how big their motorhome was or if they have any slide outs. But, I would suggest booking a preferred site if you want to do that. The preferred sites are a little wider etc., so that should help with giving ya'll a little more space. Your tent will need to be set up at the back of their motorhome, and hopefully they have an awning which will help give ya'll a little more usable outdoor space since your tent will be taking up the back area. Also, since they will not be able to back up into the site real far to save room for your tent they may have to park their car at the front of the resort and not in front of ya'll site. But, you'll be able to judge that when you get their as it will depend on alot of factors like how big your tent is and how long their motorhome is. Sharing a site is alot cheaper and it gtds ya'll to be next to each other, so I would say go for it!

thanks for the info - their MH is about 34' and our tent is a 9 x 9 dome tent, so I don't think we'll have a problem with space. Since we're cooking together we really wanted to be on the same site and if we can save a few $$ that's more money for the parks!

We often put up a tent behind our motorhome (31ft) cause my sister's husband likes sleeping outside. Sometimes we put up the screen room, too. Just tell them when you make reservations about the tent--they will assign you a suitable site.

THERE HAVE BEEN TIMES THAT WE HAVE TENTED ON MY SISTERS SITE. WE WOULD HAVE 2 CARS, THE TENT AND THE POP-UP ON THE SITE. ONCE IN A WHILE WE WOULD GET A NOTE ON THE CAR THAT WE HAD TOO MANY ON THE SITE BUT IT WASN'T A BIG DEAL AND IT WAS OFF SEASON. GOOD LUCK AND ENJOY YOUR VACATION.

You shouldn't have a problem with the tent. My parents have a 34 ft slide out and there is room for your size tent behind it. They have an area that has pea stone/sand type stuff. I do think you are only allowed one car per site but you can keep one of the cars in the parking lot with out a problem
