Looking for a RV park to stay the night on the way to FW. We are traveling from the Detroit area and want to make it to GA before we call it a night. I found a park on line called Harvest Moon in Adairsville. Anyone have any suggestions:thewave:

I take it you are travelling down I75? Try The KOA website . You are bound to find something along the way. The web site shows 5 campgrounds along I75 - two north of Atlanta and three south.
We have stayed at each end of Georgia. Just after Chatanooga, at exit 1, there is a great Best Holiday Travel Park. West on 41, then south on Mack Smith Road.
Nice pull thru's, and great showers. Fairly large sites. We stay there when we can.
Not all KOA's are great. The one in Calhoun, just a little further south is not that cool, I would avoid it. There is a really great KOA on the south end of GA, but you won't make it that far I wouldn't think.
We are at FW now, got here Thursday. Was pretty slow here then, but sure picked up over the week end.
Some real jerk kids on gas powered scooters, but I guess I don't want to go there right now ....

I guess it depends on where you want to stop in GA. There is a KOA just north of Atlanta, and one just south.
There is also a KOA just inside the GA state line from TN.
We're from Lake Orion, Mi and typically stay at the Sweetwater KOA between Knoxville and Chattanooga on the way to FW. It's a nice campground - for what we want - a place to sleep and take a shower - and is about the mid-point of the trip. On the way home, we generally push it to the Corbin KY KOA. Again, nice for what we want.
If you're looking for something in Southern GA, I've seen good reviews on Eagle's Roost in Lake Park, just north of the FL state line. The KOA in Lake Park also has high ratings from TL.

For the most part, that is how we view KOA's - a place to park the camper for the night and take a shower before we hit the road in the morning. And having them located so close to most major highways is a plus. Pull off, set up, sleep, shower, hit the road.
There are a couple we have seen that are nice destinations though, enough so that we bought the value card. The Wisconsin Dells KOA is very nice, and we stayed 5 days at the Mt Rushmore KOA (the pool was filthy, but the restrooms were clean - lots of stuff to do around there). We have also done weekends at Harpers Ferry KOA (very nice) and Hagerstown, MD KOA (nice as well).

Which KOA are you talking about in south Georgia? We will likely stop in that area and have used an RV park which we like, but it would be nice to have another option just in case.
Are gas-powered scooters allowed by the rules? I thought that they were going to allow electric (which I also disagree with, unless they are going to have riders abide by the same rules as drivers of golf carts) but GAS scooters have the added noise, speed and smell. I really, really hope FW rethinks this scooter thing.
I am waiting for a reply from Disney after our last campout. We wrote a formal complaint regarding the scooters, electric and gas. I was almost taken out twice on my bike by kids on scooters. I am all for having fun, but its just too busy for the scooters to be on the sidewalks. In addition, it is against the law here in Florida to ride them on the sidewalk or road, so hopefully Disney will ban them to abide by the state law. Anxiously waiting their response.

They did stop the offenders (two security cars no less), but not sure what happened. Normally I just chill and watch and grin, but these kids were over the top, spinning around in the grass, and going way to fast around Pioneer Hall .. and yes, noise and smoke.
As usual, parental disassociation with the kids and their activities. We might write a letter this time too.
Anyway, Detoit is much closer than I thought after checking Street Atlas. You should make it to GA easily (550 miles or so ??).
On the South end, Eagles Roost (??) looks very cool, and across the street it the way cool KOA. Relatively now and just became a KOA not too long ago. A little further down is Jennings, but I would opt for the first two in this paragraph. Most likely way to far for one day (900 plus miles).

FYI - do NOT stay at the KOA (it might not even be a KOA anymore...but it was until last year) off of I-75 near Barrett Pkwy in Kennesaw (it's actually on Old Hwy 41...north of Atlanta). It's a dump and there have been several police incidents there over the past few years.
I live in the area (off of I-75 NW of Atlanta). If you want a nice quiet place to park for the night close to I-75...try one of the COE parks. Our absolute fav is McKinney Campground off of the Glade Road exit. It's well taken care of and on the lake. Nice campground hosts. You pass two others (Clark North and Clark South) on the way to McKinney which would also be more than acceptable for an overnight stop.
One other option is Red Top Mtn in Cartersville...nicely run, though the bathhouses are a little older if you plan to use them.

Actually, Atlanta is 720 miles from Detroit - Downtown to Downtown. Depending on where you start, you can add or subtract up to 35 miles. That's a loooong day pulling a trailer.
I've done the trip twice, starting about 15 miles or so north of downtown (Southfield - picking up my wife from work and leaving).
In total, it takes between 19 and 21 hours to get to FW from the Detroit area (depending on how confident you are in your radar detector
). Knoxville / Chattanooga is around the halfway point. On the last trip we stayed at the Sweetwater KOA in TN overnight (10-11 hours from Southfield), left at 7:00 the next morning, and arrived at FW about 6:00 (20 minutes over the estimated time on "Streets and Trips) the next night - in time to set up, shower and make a PS for Chef Mickey's at the Contemporary.
It's about another 2 1/2 to 3 hours to the outerbelt in ATL from Sweetwater.
I guess when you stop depends on a) when you leave, b) what you are pulling and c) your stamina.
