Has anyone been there?? Is the food any good? What are the prices like??

A new location recently opened in Huntsville, AL where my nephew lives and I thought if the food was decent, I would get him a GC for Christmas.

He's a sous-chef in a restaurant in Hunstville, so he enjoys trying different places.

They seem to have a lot of locations. There is one for Rhode Island and it says "coming soon".

I looked at the menu through Sunshine site and the selections and pictures they posted look good.

Hope someone can help.

Thanks!!

Its good, but very pricey. Everything is a la carte. Dinner for two would probably run about $150 if they both had a glass of wine. I prefer Flemings over Ruth's Chris.

I ate at the one in Philadelphia a little over 10 years ago. It was good, but as the poster above me said, very pricey. All the sides were ala carte then as well. It was good, but not something I ever had the desire to do again.

We also ate at Ruth's Chris in Phila. and as previous posters said - very pricey. However, our waiter told us to order individual steaks but to share all sides as they are huge (and he was right) As for the food, my DH is very picky and this steak was one of the very few he has ever enjoyed.

The food is expensive but very good. Dinner for 2 including : 2 steaks ($30 or so each), 2 sides (that can be shared) and a couple of salads (sides/salads about $7) will likely going to cost about $100 before tip.

Sounds exactly like Shula's Steak House at the Dolphin Hotel.

Ruth's Chris is one of the best resturants I've eaten at. I agree with the above post about the price although for a special occasion/gift you will not go wrong.

The steaks are cooked in a oven at an extremely high temperature which sears them perfectly. They are then served to the table in a sizzling plate w/ butter (you can request them to hold the butter but what's the point?) The New York Strip is my favorite.

A gift card that would cover everything would need to be atleast $125 typically. That would cover 2 steaks, 2 sides, and desert although no bar drinks.

We really like Ruth's Chris. It is pricey, but if you don't go to a place like that very often, it can be worth it. The sides are meant to be shared. We went for my mother-in-law's birthday. There were six of us. Three of us had a cocktail. We all had steaks, salads, three sides to share and a couple of desserts to share. The bill was about $350.

Most high-end steak houses are ala carte. I've been to Ruth's Chris 5 or 6 times and have noticed a steady decline. It may just be the one that I frequent, though. When we began going the food was top notch, lately it's been only a few steps above Outback quality at triple or quadruple the price.

I have to agree with this statement. the first time I went to Ruth's Chris in NYC, it was very good. Each visit since (NYC and Philly) I have noticed a decline in food and service. Way too pricey for an average meal, lately.

We have been to one of the one's in NJ, and it was the best steak I have ever had. The food was excellent, and the service was incredible. Dinner for two, with dessert, but no drinks was close to $150.00.

I agree with all posts. Last time I was there, I believe we spent close to $200 for a dinner for two, which included a bottle of wine and tip. (can't remember if we got a dessert or not).
Share the sides for sure.
I prefer Morton's, but certainly am thrilled to go to Ruth's Chris, too.

I also feel that there has been a decline in the last couple of years. We like Morton's better.

I would say 150 for two people including tips and maybe a glass of wine each.

If they havent tried it before and like steak, they will enjoy it.

We went there for my birthday. Truthfully I didn't really like it. It was a nice meal and all, but so not worth it. I didn't like that the steak was served in a pool of butter. I've had a better steak at Outback.

It was nice and I am glad we went. But I probably won't be doing it again any time soon.

I have eaten at the Ruth's Chris in Weehawken, NJ a couple of times. Oh my God the food is delicious but as everyone has said, super expensive. My DH and I still talk about the appetizer we ordered on the waiter's recommendation -- without asking the price. It was amazing but it better have been for $30! We still laugh about that one -- good thing we didn't order two!

Still, for a very special occasion, I would definitely eat there again. Just thinking about it makes me hungry. YUM.

I can't imagine comparing the Ruth's Chris in Dallas to an Outback! Outback is where we take the kids and wear jeans! Ruth's Chris in these parts is still top notch!

I been twice. Once about 10 years ago and it was fantastic.

We went for my dh birthday in August and I have to say we were both disapointed. Service was outstanding and the food was just OK. Nothing great for the $150 meal we ate. We won't be back.

It was nice to try but been there done that and have no desire to do it again.

Now Sulivan's steak house - yummy!

We love Ruth Chris's steak house.

Yes, expensive, but the steak is soooo worth it. We've been to the Shula's in Houston and although its very good, I don't think its as good as Ruth Chris's.

We usually go for our anniversary, with drinks and sides our bill is usually a little over $100.00.
