Ruth's Chris Steak House

You might want to hold off on the GC for your nephew for another year - I know someone who just went over the weekend and they are still trying to work some major kinks out - 3 out of the 4 steaks at the table were cooked incorrectly.

Maybe by this time next year, things will have improved.

Sorry but thought you'd want to know.

We have eaten here for years at Ruth Chris's in B.R., pretty expensive but yummy. WE have always had good experiences , (well except for the time our local councilman chocked and fell out on the floor and DH broke his ribs tring to get the obstruction out but thats another story),nothing close to Outback (im not a fan of O.B.) Hubby prefers the atmosphere of Sullivans over R.C's though.
Good to know about Huntsville, My inlaws all live there. Maybe Ill bet BIL a gc there for xmas.

I can't imagine comparing the Ruth's Chris in Dallas to an Outback! Outback is where we take the kids and wear jeans! Ruth's Chris in these parts is still top notch!

I wasn't comparing the atmosphere to Outback. I was comparing my steak to an Outback steak. Obviously, the experience at Ruth's Chris is a much better experience. But to me it wasn't worth the 500% difference in price from the Outback. My Outback steak is usually better than the one I had at Ruth's Chris.

I love Ruth Chris Steakhouse.

It is pricey, but it's not a type of restaurant we go to often.

My mother and I love Ruth's Chris. Our secret is to go at lunchtime for their specials. We get the filet mignon with side (potatoes or veggies) plus a salad and bread for a lower price, say $30-$40 per person. At the Chicago restaurant, we've had good service and good food every time we've been!

Thank you everyone for your replies. Ruth's Chris sounds way out of my price range.

Thank you. I appreciate you letting me know. Being in the restaurant business, I know that it usually takes at least a few months (sometimes longer) to work out the kinks. No matter how much pre-training there is, there are bound to be growing pains.

Thank you again to everyone who responded.

I think Outback is better. yeah I know that Ruth Chris Steakhouse uses Prime beef but did you know that it is actually not good for you to eat Prime Steak. Prime Steak has a lot of fat of in it. I also think that Outback makes a better baked potato and salad. Just my opinion.
