My fiance surprised me with DL tickets for my birthday which was on November 3. He knew I was bummed that we didn't have a trip planned before the closing of my favorite ride, Tower of Terror closes in January.

We are planning on going next weekend (Friday-Sunday), but we could swing it any weekend besides Dec. 2-4. OR we could go on a weekday during my winter break (I'm a teacher). Those dates are: Dec 26-Jan 6.

We know any of these dates will be busy (teachers' schedule=kids off schedule also). When do you think is our best bet? Also, we are looking for advice on hotels. We were thinking the Embassy Suites Anaheim South, but it is booked for next weekend. Anything with a shuttle that runs an hour before the park opens would be perfect for us, as we don't like parking when we get there.

Thank you!!!

I'm looking at the Hilton app and it shows availability for all the area hotels. However I would not choose the Embassy. We stayed there last year and weren't happy not to mention its further away than other Hilton property options (if that's important to you, it is for us as DH is diamond with them). Next weekend, checkin Fri and out on Sunday you could stay at the new Homewood for $175 per night. We were just there 2 weeks ago. It's a 5 minute walk to the Toy Story shuttle which was quite convenient. Hot breakfast is included. DoubleTree is really nice also, 10 min walk to Toy Story shuttle, $145 per night, they have a better hot breakfast but it's not included unless you are a diamond member. Embassy S is showing $155 per night.

I think next weekend will likely be your best option. Have fun!!!

Annabella and Majestic Garden Inn where I've stayed (and would recommend) are both booked next weekend (which I think would be the best as far as crowds and seeing ToT); a favorite resource DLRprepschool recommends Grand Legacy (very close walking distance) and it is available on CheapTickets for $139/night next weekend.

Thank you for your advice! Is the Homewood you stayed at the "Main Gate Area" or the "Convention Center" one? I am looking into pricing now, and was only interested in Embassy because there seemed to be a shuttle you could take from there to the parks. Thank you for your help!!

Thank you so much for the intel! I will check these out :)

We stayed at the Homewood Suites Main Gate Area last week and had a very ice stay. They have a shuttle bus - though not free. It is about 2 miles from DLR. Great breakfast!

Convention center. It just opened about a year ago.

The Embassy shuttle is about the only positive thing we found at that hotel.

Most of the other area hotels use the ART shuttle.

We are doing the same. ToT is one of our favorite rides and we are making one last trip next month in order to get to experience it one last time.
