Rush Limbaugh Arrested.

Sorry, I live in Florida and I know how the law works in this state. Rush got the benefit of "drug court" and that is a good thing for a first time offender. The objective in Florida is to rehabilitate first time drug offenders, rather than to make them criminals.

Actually, reports are that the DA in 2004 rejected a deal from Limbaugh's lawyer much like the one that was ageed to last week by both sides. In the rejection, the DA claimed it held enough evidence to charge Limbaugh with up to 10 felonies, including money laundering, and might do so. The DA also made a literal Federal case out of trying get Limbaugh's medical records. This doesn't sound like the sort of prosecutorial effort that most first-time abusers get in your state if what you say is correct.

Given all that it doesn't sound like Rush is, or should be treated like, a first-timer.

This type of over generalization is disgusting and inaccurate.

It is? So liberals haven't taken the lead for the decriminalization of certain illegal drugs and less harsh punishment for drug users? Aren't we talking about the King of the Hill right wing nut job mouthpiece that the left would just love to see toppled?

If you noticed, I said "pretty much" which doesn't imply all. I was trying to avoid generalization. Sorry you took it that way. But I still stand by my statement that it's mostly true.

Well, actually you said Liberals and then came the "pretty much" but it's just semantics. I have seen the heartbreak of drug addiction so I'm not exactly thrilled with those who want to legalize all drugs. Some of my Republican friends are actually more 'liberal' about this issue than I am, but I do live in a blue state so I suppose that should be taken into account. All I'm saying is you can't make blanket ststements and then complain when you believe we are doing the same. There are fringe elements in both parties that want softer sentences for criminals and every illegal substance legalized. Not all Liberals think this way.
