Has anyone ever been to the Filene's sale? What was your experience there?They are having one here in D.C. tomorrow and I'm tempted to go. I'm thinking of showing up for the doors opening just for the entertainment value, then grab some breakfast and head back over after things have calmed down a bit. My understanding is that after the initial rush, it isn't so bad. There is a Maggie Sottero dress that I really want, but can't afford. Filene's won't announce what designers they have at the sale, so I'd actually need to go in order to find out if they have anything I might even be interested in!

I've been to 2 of the ones in Atlanta.

1 year I was there at 6am. I wasn't seriously shopping, but it was the first year it was being done and we thought it might be fun. I found nothing in my size.

I went this year in the afternoon. I still found nothing in my size. (I did find some that looked like I was on the Little House on the Prairie or a church choir) My friend found several in her size and almost bought one, but her fiance saw it and she decided that she needed a different dress.

I'm a size 2-4 reg so I was looking for size 4-6 wedding dress, my friend was looking for 22-24

I've been to the one in Boston twice.... I found a couple of nice dresses but nothing that really jumped out at me..... I am going to the one on the 21st and bringing helpers, so maybe they will help me find something good....

I am back and I did end up with a dress for $249. I will detail the entire experience after I get a "cat nap." There were highs and lows. Otherwise I am glad to have found a dress.

yay! I'm excited to hear that you found a dress. They just opened one in Aventura here in S. FL but since I have a dress I would only go to look around. If I can find a cheap dress I would do a trash the dress photo session.

Thanks! I think you can find a cheap dress through Ebay or if you decide to go to Filene's. I think you would LOVE the trash the dress photo shoot. I hope you are able to do it!

I did research and the dress I bought for $249 retails for $1500. So I guess I saved some money Here is the dress since I know everyone (including myself) loves pictures:
