Thanks for the nice words there Amy and Kim. I'm just a very lucky person to have escaped any major kind of injury and let's face it, I had the biggest room to improve. I was way overweight and had never run before when I started...kind of makes it easy to show noteable improvement over the course of a year. Couple that along with the fact that I'm a male and I'm 6' tall (longer strides)...and I'm probably right where I should be...right in line with those people my age who run. I do appreciate the nice comments though...makes me feel good every time I visit the journal.
Don't sell yourself short there Scott. You wouldn't be placing 3rd if you were right in line with others your age. Doesn't matter where you started....it's how far along you've come. You are running at a pace that is in line with people who have run their whole lives. That's amazing....be proud of that and really, don't make it out to be less than it is
.Great run again today. Be careful with your leg! Be careful with that smoke! Yikes! And enjoy your holiday weekend

I'm glad you listened to your body and took into account the fact that you raced the day before.
Too funny Scott!
I guess I have ran 3 out of the last 4 days and maybe that had something to do with it also
and then Surviv...I mean Pirate Master tomorrow night at 8.
