Hi guys! :yay:

I'm reaaaaaaaally considering doing the 10k event during the Princess Half Marathon weekend. I'd be going with a girlfriend and we would most likely go Thurs-Mon. I will have an annual pass (upgrading to APs when we go in Sept since we will be there for 15 days). She will not have an AP. My admission is covered...and then we would split a hotel stay and would she just purchase a 4 day ticket? Or would it be smarter to book a MYW package when we book the hotel? I am no good at the "best options" because I have always just gotten the MYW package plus Hopper and WPF+M option.

Also, are all Disney hotels considered "host" hotels? I was reading on the runDisney site that only early transportation (runners need to arrive at 5:30am!) is available at host hotels.

Anyone with some experience or insight, please chime in! :yay:

I could be wrong, but I thought the busses were running from all the hotels in WDW last year. We were at the Beach Club but when we went to the expo there was busses from all the other hotels there. And I know at the drop off for the races there were tons of busses from all the other hotels.

Last year, all Disney resorts were host resorts. I could be wrong, but if you do a package, won't you have to do it for everyone on the reservation? If you have an AP, you won't need a ticket, correct? I would do a room only reservation and let her purchase a 4 day ticket separately. I did the half and stayed at ASMo. Was on the bus at 3am!!

While I can't speak for your ticket options since I usually purchase the military salute tickets prior to our trip, I can speak for the race: the Princess 10K is 90% full, and registration has only been open since noon, so if you're planning on running that race, I say jump on it NOW.

Which resort are you considering staying at? If I remember correctly, most if not all WDW resorts provided transportation to the race this year. Even off-site hotels began offering transportation once they received several inquiries from guests staying with them (i.e. Royal Plaza, while on property near DTD is not a WDW resort hotel, but is close enough for them to offer package delivery from the parks, so I would imagine they would be open to providing transportation if enough people asked).

Check the runDisney site and there should be a link for discounted rooms at specific resorts for that time period. Buses will run from ALL WDW resorts for the races and to the Expo... runDisney uses Charter buses. Anyone can use these buses; we saw lots of guests going to the Expo just to shop.

Don't want to stress you, but if you want to run the 10K you better sign up fast. As of right now it's 90% sold out. The half is at 85%.:wizard:

Thank you everyone! I can't believe it is at 90% capacity already! I will hope and hope that it stays under capacity until at least tomorrow when I can get a committment from my girlfriend!

We were thinking about All Star Movies! My boyfriend and I are staying at Coronado Springs for 2 weeks in Sept so the Feb trip will have to be budgeted! :)

I wasn't planning g on registering until next week. I am registered now, though!!

Trust me, it will not be there tomorrow. The 10k is at 95% and I am surprised it hasn't sold out already. Anybody who could not access a computer at work today will sign up the minute they get home from work and it will go fast.

Good luck,
Lynda

It's really unlikely that it's going to not sell out today, IMO. I'd call her NOW.

Just do room-only since you already have admission. She can buy her ticket through wdw, rundisney, or even undercovertourist.com or a similar site.

Last I checked, the 5K is only at 56%, so it's still available. It's Frozen themed, but my bf and I will be dressing up as The Incredibles.

The Expo will be open from 10am-8pm on Thursday, Feb. 19th. We're planning on flying in around 1pm, checking in to ASMusic at 3-4pm, then hitting the expo to pick up our race packets for the 5K and mine for the PHM. I always used to wait until Saturday to hit the Expo, since I've only ever done the PHM, but I like that we're going on Thursday because by Saturday, most things are sold out.
