I really hope they bring the Beyonder to the MCU. We need an early 70s Elvis clone.

It was 100% pandering and I was absolutely fine with it.Well, I'll be honest. I thought it was pandering. But you know who loved it, my two daughters and wife, and frankly that's all that matters. Guys got lots of pandering throughout the entire MCU.

And promptly de-cannonized by Disney as soon as they bought the company.Agreed, no book will ever top Heir to the Empire's numbers, it was a juggernaut and that series is the reason that a Star Wars renaissance happened in the 1990s. I don't think people realize how much of an event that was. There's a reason characters like Grand Admiral Thrawn and Mara Jade (even though she's never been in any canon media) are still popular today.
I think they should definitely do it, I mean let's go all in with this direction.God, could you imagine what would happen if the A-Force movie Brie, Tessa and Evangeline were campaigning for ever happened? Fingers crossed![]()

I mean you can't have all those stories and books that actually sell overshadowing the Disney stuff that isn't selling nearly as well right?
Right. It doesn't change that the books were written and what they meant at the time and still mean to people. It just means there are not conventions that future Star Wars script writers have to be held to.Odd that they still print and sell those books though, isn't it? And let's not pretend that the Expanded Universe didn't have it's share of dogs too - some of the stories were downright ridiculous and not well-liked. They cleared canon so they wouldn't be beholden to it, just like George Lucas was never beholden to any of it either.
I believe George said he saw the EU as it’s own separate universe and just let the writers get on with it.
The Crystal Star, come on down! And let's not pretend that the Expanded Universe didn't have its share of dogs too - some of the stories were downright ridiculous and not well-liked.
I mean it's really hard to top High Republic characters like "Geode" (Who looks like a rock) and is the navigator for a transport starship called "Vessel". I mean that represents the pinnacle of creative genius right there, hard to imagine Zahn coming up with anything that was half as inventive.Odd that they still print and sell those books though, isn't it? "promptly" = 1.5 years later. And promptly de-cannonized by Disney as soon as they bought the company.

So you're gonna bang on Geode, a character which is in fact VERY creative, in the sense that there is no other character like him. Certianly, it's fair not to like the idea or the book, but not liking a book doens't mean that EVERYTHING ABOUT IT has to be bad. You don't have to like Geode, but it IS creative.
