I think it would be a crappy move on WDW's part to stop MSEP and not replaced it at all during party season. Night parades at MK are just really special...just low down and dirty if they do it

From the WDWmagic "know it all". Not always right but often is. This DL CM info would line up with MK info. I'm going to hope PTN start sooner than later since MK birthday starts in October. (also are there not folks booked at Tony's for night parade viewing?) Last thing WDW needs is another loss of major attraction to affect attendance. I would imagine that PTN is in excellent condition whereas MSEP will probably need some cleaning and maintenance. Even if January, I will be happy to see it at WDW, and looks like I'll be booking a few time frames and cover a few bases.



Take this for it is worth, but yesterday entertainment front-liners at DL were claiming a big announcement was coming today.

And they are saying that PtN is coming to WDW (as absurd as it sounds) and MSEP will be returning to DL AGAIN in January. I have no way of verifying this at all, just passing it along.

Still waiting but we do have more info .... at the end of new article it states -

“Paint the Night” parade will continue nightly performances, just before “Disneyland Forever” fireworks, through September 5 as part of the Disneyland Resort Diamond Celebration. And I’m excited to share today that this popular parade will return on select nights during the holiday season later this year. Be sure to keep an eye on the entertainment calendar at Disneyland.com for performance dates and times.

So I'm reading that PTN will stay at DL through the holidays for select nights.

Both parades are going down (Sept/Oct) ..... which means NO NIGHTTIME PARADES except for MNSSHP and MVMCP ..........

I'm not sure where you're getting that. The blog says that MSEP at WDW ends Oct. 9, so presumably it continues through September on non-party nights. There's still time for an announcement of a replacement at MK after 10/9.

Well, both parks will be dark other than party nights through much of the fall .... looks like DL will still have PTN a few select nights during the holidays.

I think MSEP will need months of cleaning and repairs before it is acceptable to run at DL so their early next year is probably to take that in to account. So maybe they won't do for one and not the other .......... but it would be in their best interest now to at least announce the plans for MK so the natives don't get too restless.

You are correct, typo on my part. So they are going down within month of each other .... but still pulling MSEP during a busy time of year with MNSSHP, F&W and MVMCP, T-Day and Christmas...

I am now getting ready for my October 2016 trip and I'm not currently planning to do much after my evening Kilimanjaro Safari in AK due to the reviews of the current show. Is ROL gonna fire up anytime soon? I'm seeing AK closing at 7 when I plan to be there on 10/20. Is that right or have they just not released the actual hours for October? Gotta plan my FP+s in 10 days and trying to figure out if I should stay in AK after 7. Sorry if this has all been discussed but I appreciate your comments and advice.

My (poor) friend is working on the show and the current aim is to open in October. I don't know when in October, or if they'll make the deadline, but I would be cautiously optimistic.
