Well, in the interest of just keeping rhis thread in the top, i'll report something totally
Im retired, and since i don't have a job to go back to, I'll tell you what i do all summer here in Minnesota. I raise and release monarchs.
So far, it's been a slow start, but I've successfully raised released 19 beautiful monarch butterflies, and currently have 11 eggs in the nursery, 16 caterpillers munching away on the milkweed from the field on our property, and 11 chrysalis that will emerge into beautiful monarch butterflies in the next week.
Life is good! Especially if i get to plan a trip to Disney at the same time!
???????Okay LOUNGERS ............... my above post was in jest at the time .................. but some folks working WDW know the answer to that rumor. I am no longer planning around Rumors of Light ..............
Meaning....it's no longer a rumor.....or its no longer an option....????Okay LOUNGERS ............... my above post was in jest at the time .................. but some folks working WDW know the answer to that rumor. I am no longer planning around Rumors of Light ..............

Hardest part of knowing folks who work on the inside is them telling you things that are to stay mum. I knew 3 weeks before the first slip that the hat was leaving DHS. While all argued it was not, I knew it was. I knew that Soarin' was going down for expansion at the same time WDWMagic's big "inside man" was saying Disney wouldn't decide until after TSMM was complete to see if worth it ... haha, at that point the plans were already drawn. DD saw the plans. I could say nothing. SO ......
How about we put on our Nancy Drew hats (I still have all my books) .....
- Disney has announced that Disneyland's "Disneyland Forever fireworks and World of Color Celebrate" are ending September 5th and yesterday announced that the "Fantasy in the Sky" and "World of Color" will be back.
- Disney announced that Disneyland's "Paint the Night" will also be ending on September 5th. Why? Makes no sense, unless it is going elsewhere.
- I am absolutely sure that Disneyland will get a night time parade ..... but highly doubt anything will be spent since they just spent all that for Paint the Night.
- Celebrate the Magic is going down most of August for planned work; upgrading projectors. Common sense might say the show may change since the old footage might not show as well with the new projectors ... so maybe some changes are possible.
- Been many rumors that MSEP may be leaving WDW. (please) Oh, wait, DL will need a parade and no leaks have come of anything in construction.
- They start a MSEP Dining Package at Tony's ..... is that really necessary? I never ever have a problem getting a good spot to see this parade. BUT ... if there is a new parade coming that will be a huge draw then a Dining Package at Tony's could be HUGE (and maybe I would go where I said I never would go again).
- October 1st is the Magic Kingdom's 45th Birthday, do we really think they will let this pass without something to spark interest .... particularly after the slower spring/summer they have had. Hard and expensive to come up with a new draw .... unless you switch something different at each park you already have.
- Wishes is long in the tooth, Celebrate It is loved and if technically looks better that is great ..... still no draw (and the ROL fiasco has not helped disperse crowds) ............. what would be a HUGE punch in the arm? and honestly probably cause trips to be booked just for it? I would.
- Switching the two parades would be a huge boost to WDW, at a time it needs it, and other than transport no money needs to be spent. So Paint the Night is over Sept 5th and MK birthday is Oct 1st - and this year it's the weekend. What a great day to start a celebration with a bang!
- Disneyland is an AP park. It is a park whose guests thrive on classic. This would not hurt them. This absolutely would be a huge bonus for WDW.
- Get your Nancy thinking cap at full capacity ................ what is in the parks when there is a themed celebration? What would be there already that would likely be seen by many CMs but not guests at this point? Something that could answer this question.
I am looking at my schedule to book a trip, and it's not for ROL.
I guess I should think about being at MK instead of DHS on october 1st...?!?!
I guess I'm pretty excited we have an October trip already on the books....now to take another look at that schedule....and our dining reservations......
ETA: And here I was thinking about trying to squeeze in a last minute trip to DL.....
