Rumors of Light (ROL discussion thread)

Ugh, I've been drooling over pictures of those houses for years.

Me, too. I always say that if we ever win the lottery or have an extra $2 million to spend on a vacation home, I'd buy one in a heartbeat. I'm pretty sure I remember reading in the fine print somewhere that these homes have to be used as vacation homes and you can't live in them for more than a certain number of months per year.

Now that is crazy - if I'm paying that much for a house, I'd want to be able to live in it all the time :P But of course, this is in a dream world where I have that kind of money :P

Reminds me of the clause somewhere in our DVC contract that basically says you can't use DVC to live year-round at Disney!

To all the folks leaving today or tomorrow, have a great time and please leave everything running for us folks coming next week.:rolleyes2

If you can do anything to speed up the RoL folks, that would be great...
shout encouragement:cheer2:

offer them collectible 'rumor' pins:duck:

...whatever it takes.:confused3 :genie:

Hear you. DH has finally allowed that Disney shirts are okay (in WDW only) but wont do matching :). I started with a wicking solid color mickey golf shirt and it grew from there LOL.
I feel like it is a process, lol! Or at least it was with my DH! Disney shirts to 1 matching to him ordering his ROL shirt late because he didn't want to be left out!!

I will try to bribe them with pins!!
Thanks for the well wishes! We are on layover in Atlanta - i don't know what we were thinking. I don't mind the 5 thirty flight but the layout kills me - we could almost be there by now! Can't wait!

That's awesome, no more fidgeting and hoping as she gets measured...
I've been very fortunate, both my girls were over 48" at 5 years old so it's been a long time since I had to worry about height restrictions...:rolleyes1

I hope you have a great trip!

My DD3 still measures in at 37"... I hope she'll have a growth spurt within the next couple weeks so she can make 38" for 7DMT! Otherwise I guess we have to resort to the medieval stretching method to make her just a tad bit taller :rolleyes1

Exactly!
Yes, ahe has been 99% percentile since 3 weeks old, but se started slowing down this year! I actually think we're going to see a growth spurt soon because her tummy is getting rounder, she's hungry more often, and because I just bought her new clothes and shoes. Her shoe size has gone up a almost size and a half since Christmas!
The pediatrician estimated her adult height at 5'9 - "over 6' " --I'm *almost 5'2" so... she already knows when we "need to talk" she sits down and I stand.
Sorry for rambling!

Thank you! So excited! :D

Try a pair of shoes with a bit of a platform if she's close. I know it's something to carry as she'll not be walking in them the whole day but they measure with shoes on. Good luck

My doctor said the same thing about me when I was a kid my parents were worried I'd be 6 foot tall. I was always the tallest in my class. Anyhoo I'm a whole 5 foot 4 inches, you sometimes never know. Both my boys are now taller than me. My baby 13 and already 5ft 6 and in a men's size 9 shoe, I'm ready to start binding his feet!

And....we have a weather delay.

There is a huge high school a capella group sitting next to me. ...I wonder if they will start singing?

My DD is a bit of an amazon, she will be taller than me soon. People have asked if I have twins but DH is 2 years older!

I mean DS, not DH!
Nothing to do but talk about nothing!

Sympathy like. I'm sorry about the delay and hope you get going soon!

Lucky you got kids that grow like weeds! DS has been in the 20's(percentile) for height and 10 or less on weight since he was born! He was born right on time but his body is perfectly happy staying on the smaller side.

You're lucky, your child grows slow enough to actually wear out clothes. What I wouldn't give for my monster to wear out shoes!

Try measuring her in all her shoes. My DD was a little over 43" last fall. We discovered that her old tennis shoes got her to 44". They weren't shoes we normally would have taken because they were kind of ratty, but she couldn't have cared less since it meant she got to ride.

Mine have also always been in the 99th percentile and unless the charts change, they will stay there. They are 13 and 14 years old and both girls are 5'11" (actually the youngest is 1/4" above that). I have an inch on them still, but who knows.
It actually used to be hilarious in the younger grades at school assemblies, when they'd get up off the floor, my oldest always seemed to sit beside the smallest kids so it kind of reminded me of Godzilla attacking the city with the way she towered over them.
