Rumors of Light (ROL discussion thread)

You're lucky, your child grows slow enough to actually wear out clothes. What I wouldn't give for my monster to wear out shoes!

YES! My daughter has been around the 25-30% since about 6 months. She grows. Just OH SO SLOWLY. I worried about it for about... 15 seconds and then realized how much wear we can get out of clothes. We still have some 18mo dresses that she can wear as shirts! And most things last us at LEAST two go rounds of it's appropriate season. I love my tiny little pocket human!

hahahaha "little pocket human" -- love it!

Try a pair of shoes with a bit of a platform if she's close. I know it's something to carry as she'll not be walking in them the whole day but they measure with shoes on. Good luck

Try measuring her in all her shoes. My DD was a little over 43" last fall. We discovered that her old tennis shoes got her to 44". They weren't shoes we normally would have taken because they were kind of ratty, but she couldn't have cared less since it meant she got to ride.

If I put her in her light up sneakers, she just about makes 38" if I tell her to stand upright and look straight. Of course she'll want to wear her new sandals in Florida since the sneakers are a bit hot and in those she does not make 38" - they have a pretty slim sole. Maybe I'll just throw the sneakers into the stroller basket and put them on for 7DMT. Never even thought about that.

We had one of those for a while, too! My DD will be 7 in a couple of months and is 46" tall now. For a long time, she was in such a low percentile for height and weight that she literally didn't even make it onto the chart. Her pediatrician had us visit all sorts of specialists just for them to eventually confirm that it's because I'm 5' tall and my DH is 5'7" and a skinny thing.

For those of you still doing the dreaming of living on Disney Property (like me) from the earlier posts, here are the FAQ's that answer most questions: (The tickets question is Q6 although for that kind of money you would think they could keep the website updated since 12/31/15 has passed for awhile now!)

Soooo.

I'm going to start saving up for this dream house of mine. KTY.

Doubt they'd stop that perk even after the fact. They'd be crazy to do so.

And....we have a weather delay.

There is a huge high school a capella group sitting next to me. ...I wonder if they will start singing?

My DD is a bit of an amazon, she will be taller than me soon. People have asked if I have twins but DH is 2 years older!

I mean DS, not DH!
Nothing to do but talk about nothing!
I hope you're on your way now! We have a layover at JFK. I'm hoping for no delay, but our track record at JFK for the past few years hasn't been good. o_O

Randomly off topic... but could not resist posting. Perhaps the only sure way to get to see ROL is to pack up and move to Disney. Apparently for Disney, nothing is off the table anymore....

Ugh, I've been drooling over pictures of those houses for years.

Hey - do you think Real Housewives of Disney World will be up next in the franchise??? LOL

My oldest has always been small around 25th percentile both height and weight but shot up to 50th when he turned 4 (Oct 2015). My youngest is like 75th weight but 25th height...so he's a bowling ball...lol.

In any case, ODS always wore clothes for a long time but he had so many he did not wear them out, which was a blessing because the youngest gets his hand me downs. And he doesn't wear them as long. Which is also a blessing because then I turn around and sell them at consignment sales!
