Rumors of Light (ROL discussion thread)

If this was previously discussed, I apologize as I try to keep up

Initially, the new paid Early Morning Magic was sold out. I just happened to pull it up and every date has availability now. Does anyone know if they added more tickets, or was there glitchiness initially when we were all checking it after tickets when on sale and it showed no availability so we just thought it had sold out? (I have no plans to do this, just wondering as we will be at MK on a couple of the dates.)

No one knows for sure. Either of the scenarios you stated are possible (but IMHO, I think it was just a glitch).

I can't wait to create memories for future nostalgia soon ♡ My very first visit to Epcot, Animal Kingdom, and Hollywood Studios and second visit to Magic Kingdom!! My mother in law has been teasing that this trip is really for me and I'm only bringing my daughter along.

Seriously though when I start feeling overwhelmed with school or life stressors, I start thinking about my Disney plans and all the intensity is replaced with excitement. :cloud9:

18 days!!! Is it time to pack yet?! I don't even care about ROL being delayed at this moment!

Okay, only a little, but all of AK will be new to my eyes!!
I'd start packing, actually. But that's just me.

:rolleyes1

Don't want to forget a single thing! Better to start packing early than not and then end up forgetting something you really wanted to have.

We are still over a month out and I've started tweaking my packing list and making lists of outfits for the kids. I'm resisting the urge to haul out the luggage. :rolleyes1 Disney planning helps me deal with stress too. You are going to have such an amazing time!!

I printed out a packing list as soon as we booked our vacation.

And most of our travel sized items have already been bought and just ... oh man.

I've been packing since January.:rotfl:
I have two big 'Disney' bags in the closet where I deposit everything I buy for the trip. Problem is by the time I actually pack in July my Disney bags will be overflowing!

My DD3 started packing last night  Close to midnight I heard strange noises coming form her room. When I checked, I saw her pulling out clothes from her closet that she wanted to put into her kiddy suitcase to take "when we go see Mickey Mouse". Yeah. That kid is ready to go.

I have told DH that when we retire, I want to spend 3 weeks at Disney, just walking around the parks. I figure I will probably be doing it alone. He likes Disney, but is not quite the addict I am. :hyper2::dogdance:
This is my retirement year and DH has been dragged along, too. I am loving going at a slower pace, just enjoying. I have planned for years (like 15!). I bought annual pass vouchers from the old Disney Club, and activated them in September when I went for the Halloween party. We did a Disney (Merrytime!) cruise and I did the parks with their Christmas festivities. In a few weeks, I'll be enjoying Flower and Garden. Hmmm. Might have to squeak in one more trip before my pass expires. (and who knows, maybe ROL will be ready by then :boat: )

That's truly awesome. She's going to be a real handfull over the next week if she can't sleep at night already...:coffee::jumping2:

My new carry-on arrived in the mail yesterday, so I'm officially ready to start packing! I'm 11 days out now, and will probably get the majority of my packing done this weekend. I have been gathering odds and ends (like my ROL button, MBs, ponchos, and glow necklaces) and just have them together in my closet for now. We travel pretty light, though, and a lot of the items we'll bring are items we use or wear at home regularly, so they really can't be packed too far in advance (t-shirts, toiletries, etc.).

Oh gosh! I wanted to start so badly, but thought that starting this early would be crazy, but, I'm all aboard this train! Gonna put whatever I buy into that ... darn it, I can't. :| Gotta use that 'case for another trip to FL with the family in August. Can you believe it? Going to FL for a whole week in August, but I'm preventing myself from going to WDW. I just want the best possible outcome to come out of the week I go with DBF, since he's never been, and I don't want to spoil the trip!

I typically get stuff ready the week before and try to avoid wearing what I want to take. We usually pack the night before and my wife's approach is, if we forget it, we can always pick it up down there. Now that I analyze that approach, she always seems to under pack her clothing...I think she's out strategizing me on this...

I like her style. Maybe i should try that

Silly question but does everyone else cross pack one outfit in another suitcase? Once all bags made the trip but mine was delayed a day. I had to buy a new shirt for day 2 (aww darn), but finding 'unmentionables' in the park for sale doesn't seem to exist. I learned the value of cross packing that trip.

Yes. Always. Never a problem but that doesn't mean I trust the baggage handlers!

Yep! I didn't always, but once in college I studied abroad with a girl who checked all of her luggage and only carried on her purse. The airline lost all of her bags for a few days. Luckily the airline compensated her with enough money to go buy a couple of outfits, new toothbrush, etc., but for the first day she just had to re-wear the previous day's clothes. Ever since then, I keep everything I might need for the first 1-2 days in my carry-on (including a full change of clothes), and then check the rest in another bag.
