So after the blow of no ROL, I was looking for something special and fun to do with the fam. After reading this mornings posts and some great reviews I just booked the family magic tour for our last day 4/26. Nothing like giving Disney even more of my money after finding out we are missing out on AK nighttime activities! Sounds like fun though and I am now looking forward to this! Oh and did I read somewhere no backpacks or bags at all allowed? I wasn't told this on the phone. I need somewhere to put my stuff. She just said adults need photo ID and picture and video is encouraged.

I have used them once but not a fan of the sticker process myself. In general I only keep my toes painted continually. For my fingers I only get gels every other manicure. So harsh on my already fragile nails. (thank you Graves disease)

My DS on the right is holding a long unipod and it is screwed on the top. About the size of an apple tv remote. 360 degree photo but literal, so sky and ground. I can then rotate it any position I want. In the picture by him you see white/black object that doesn't look like it belongs. (Ricoh Theta https://theta360.com/en/) It is taken remotely so I was actually taking the pictures with my iPhone. So you can sit it down and leave it, hide and take the picture if you don't want to be in it. I have the original, but it does much more now and fine tuned.

I'm not sure about damage sorry I have gel coating on my nails. I think a lot has to do with how gentle your tech is at removing it.

Wow....you sure haven't been keeping up lol. Well, it's delayed. Not happening in April, and we have no clue when. They said we would get more info mid to late May....so it's anyone's guess when it will actually debut.

I used to go very often til I had children. Now I get a pedi every 1 to 2 months. Occasionally I get manis but it seems when I get the gel polish it messes up my already thin nails...so I try to do it at home with a good Essie base coat, good Essie or OPI color and a gel like Essie topcoat.

I was loyal to gel manicures for a loooong time and kicked the routine last year in favor of Jamberry. My nails got so thin and brittle that I had to let them fully grow out before I could do anything with them. I'm sure gel manicures are different for everyone depending on how strong your natural nails are before the manicure.

...my NAIL story...I have paper thin nails and I could never get to grow. They would split and peel as soon as they grew out a tiny big. So years ago, I did acrylic nails, loved them, and got to where I was doing my own. Well that didn't end well, and a few years later, when I tried going back to a salon for them, I found I was now allergic to the chemicals used in the acrylic process. Gave up, and didn't try again for many years, but when I do finally go back, it was the same story: first application was great, but with each appointment after that, the swelling got worse and worse, to where I had to go in to get them removed...took quite awhile for my cuticles to heal from the swelling and splitting.

My nail salon owner recommended gel nails, and I have been very happy with them for probably 4-5 years! Any polish lasts much longer over the gel nails. So...every three weeks, I get them refilled and have had no issues with them at all.

Yeah, apparently not for me. I get a pedi every few months at a tiny little neighborhood salon, I'd never committee to getting my nails refilled every 3 weeks!

yeah, I didn't bother when the kids were little, but I really do like having pretty nails...and I couldn't grow them. So now as a sassy senior, I do it as something just for me....

I would say that is the one big flaw with the TP Res Finder. Once it finds something within an hour on both sides of your specified time, it stops looking and you have to restart it. I am looking for a very specific time for BOG and Scifi. We added our niece at the last minute and was able to get her a res for BOG 15 minutes after ours and at Scifi 30 minutes after ours so I'm trying to move hers up to our times for both. Every time I restart the res finder, it just spits the same times as before out at me so it isn't really helping. Oh well, back to checking 3 or 4 times a day

Have you also tried setting up a search for your whole group including your niece? You may be able to find a different time for all of you vs. finding a specific time for just one person.

I've been reading since the beginning, but since I am not going till Dec, I decided not to join the fun till now. We did both of these with my niece years ago and she loved them both. She was a little nervous standing at the GF dock with only boys around and then, thankfully, some girls showed up. She had a blast and I think she was about 10 at the time. My mom and I went to have a spa treatment--it was perfect for all of us.
As for the Family Magic Tour...that was the best thing ever. We laughed so much and really got into it (I waddled like a penguin around the castle). We had the chance to skip the line on a ride and then went to another attraction with a famous character. That character took my niece's hand and sat next to her--she was beyond excited.

I'm so glad you joined in, thanks - I really appreciate the feedback! I think it sounds really fun, and interesting to see things from a different perspective - I know we'll all get really into it!

Plus, it's taking the sting out of the last minute flip of the MK hours due to the paid night event. So now instead of our pre-park ADR for BOG and magical stroll down quiet Main Street, we'll take advantage of the Extra magic hours to do Tomorrowland and/or Fantasyland, then the tour as the crowds are building (Saturday/extra magic), then our FPs for BTMR, Splash, 7DMT - with some kind of QS lunch thrown in there...then back to resort in the afternoon for pool/dinner.

For a nice spa, yes. 20% is fine.
