Disappointed but glad on an update! Was so excited as my sister had finally agreed to go to AK just for this! Also looks like a long delay as says they will update mid May.
That's what I said to my brother. He told me I should be glad we get the current SW fireworks show, too - and I had honestly kind of forgotten about those in all the ROL anticipation, but I've heard they are great fireworks!
Yup - I think I caught it when they were switching it out with another one because about 5 minutes later, there was another video embedded in their post. So glad they replaced it!
@tinkerhon , could you please find some image to properly express our collective sadness, resentment, and anger so as to cheer us up? I know I could use it!
We arrive on June 26 and now I'm torn if I want ROL to be available or not. I was excited with it opening in April, hoping they would be getting some of the kinks out. Now I'm not so sure I want to risk being part of the masses for this. Oh well.
Oh man! I'm still upset thinking about this. It seems they are making an announcement at the beginning of each month. Maybe we'll get an announcement beginning of May for opening mid-late May... (Optimism)

I feel for everyone whose trips will be impacted by this.
And I get that stuff happens when you are in the final stages of production
BUT
-This is supposed to be part of the summer offerings and if it doesn't open till June (maybe) it feels like they are missing the boat with summer crowds
-I know many of you get to go multiple times per year but there are a lot of people who don't and for the people who won't be returning soon this would be hugely disappointing and frustrating. I mean the average family saves for awhile to go and Disney makes you plan everything so far ahead. Now they have kind of thrown it into disarray.
-Disney has always held itself to a high standard and this just seems like an epic fail.
-Disney is not going to change course when record crowds are headed into the parks. And I hate to say that money talks. My point is that the new norm of operations is going to be acceptable if people let it be. If people, en masses cancelled their April trips or went to Universal instead Disney would listen. But if record crowds keep coming in they have very little reason to change the pattern of behavior.
-I am not a negative person about Disney. I love it there. And I love that it makes my kids happy but I am also aware that my money and vacations can be spent at other places.
Rant over and I hope that everyone planning around this gets to do something special instead.
Big surprise, neither of my attempted Comments on the Blog were allowed through. Typical..."here's your crap sandwich, please eat it" mentality from the Management at Disney. I'm now past mad and entering livid. Where's the guy with all his 'be flexible as a river' mumbo jumbo right now...
I am definitely looking forward to them!! Fingers crossed my (then) 7 month old doesn't freak out at fireworks lol. I would probably die there on the spot!
Well not going to lie I'm very disappointed for our trip in 10 days. However on the plus side at least we know we won't see ROL and that video was pure torture!! What a tease!
