Rumors of Light (ROL discussion thread)

I think Disney is not the only one who's having issue with their upcoming park hours. We're doing a few days on the dark side (aka Universal) before our stay at WDW. I've been checking the park hours for end of April for quite some time and both parks have closure times between 6pm and 7:30pm for our days (really? that early???) yet my friend booked us a fireworks dining package for one of those nights with the fireworks scheduled for 9:45pm. Yeah, now I am really curious how that's gonna happen when the park is supposed to close at 7:30pm that day o_O

Universal that time of year closes early. There are no Fireworks on a consistent basis at Universal due to having a Residential neighborhood around it. Is your friend possibly part of a group that is doing an after hours event in the park?

I don't know if it's just April Fools or what - but I'm also waiting on dinner hours for BOG to open up in September (as of yesterday they were currently only showing until 6pm), and this morning they opened up until 8:30pm, but still zero ADRs available. For the entire month of September.

That probably just means they are loading the times, just haven't made them available for booking yet. Expect them to come in the next day or so, now that MNSSHP dates have been finalized. This happened last year too.

I know the fireworks are not nightly and that the schedules varies. My friend is going with us on a regular day, no special event that day. Per Universal there is one night without fireworks while we are there so she booked another (I think Sunday or Monday). Universal confirmed the package and told her to call 24 hours in advance for table assignement for the dessert party which was scheduled at 9:45pm and we should be there by 9:15pm. Except the park is still listed as closing at 8:30pm that day (error on my end, 7:30pm was IOA that day).

Yes but were those posts about any announcements? I don't think so.
I still can't help but wonder why call several people to tell them specifically to watch for info on 4/2 if they don't plan something. They had no reason to call out of the blue just to give out inaccurate info. If the date was given to people who called in for info I would be more doubtful.

I think they are up against the calendar. While I realize it's rare for anything of substance to appear on DP Blog on the weekends, in this situation they may need to make an exception. It might be late in the day, but I'm hoping for some sort of update on Sat as promised.

Roll call: arriving to the World 4/20, be at AK 4/22, APs expire 4/24

As it relates to the weather posts....I'll give you one guess where we're from. We had a mild winter but decided to head to Quebec City for Winter Carnival (a must-do by the way). Naturally, we hit the coldest weekend of the year. -45F with the wind chill. But, we headed outside for the activities anyway!! :cold:

I think we all must be obsessively dreaming about disney. I dreamt my mother and father in law decided to come with us and I was in a panic as I would have to cancel my ADR's for 5 and wouldn't be able to book them for 7. I also was thinking I would have to buy trainers for my mother in law as she's very unfit and wouldn't cope with the walking!
Really don't know what I will do with my time once I've stopped checking constantly, hopefully the disney planning dreams will stop then.
