Rumors of Light (ROL discussion thread)

Roll Call: arriving 4/19 and will be in AK on 4/22! My birthday is 4/23! Can't think of a better birthday present. I'm hopeful today is the day. At least for some solid details. Dining package, fast pass, I'll take anything. Just really don't want to navigate massively long lines with a 2 and 5 year old in tow...ugh.

I am already getting tagged on Facebook in the fake post about Hollywood Studios closing. Did they really think I would fall for that?o_O Oh this might be a long day. Extra coffee for me. :surfweb: I just hope there are no major ROL announcements today, because I probably won't believe them! Maybe that's why they are waiting till tomorrow? One can only hope that our questions will finally be answered!

y'all did catch where I posted that a CM told me last night that ROL would be an after hours paid event? That was before April 1. I don't know where I get these people but my theory is that we've driven all the regular CMs crazy and they're on vacation until ROL opens up and we have a bunch of temps manning the phones.

Oh, I HAVE to see that post! Where is it posted on FB? My sis would totally fall for that!

On Facebook look for the page Disney Dining. It is the first post that will come up on their page. The article is actually pretty funny. It says HS is closing Sunday, but you can pay to see the demolition or pay for a few sledge hammer swings, etc. :rotfl:

Heres a link to the facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/disdining/

Roll call.. We will be at WDW 4/16-4/19 w/ plans to be in AK on 4/18 (Tusker House breakfast WOO HOO ) but we're planning to rearrange our schedule if needed to see ROL. Although I've been wanting to go to Raglan Road (#breadpudding y'all) and we have that on 4/17.. but I can be flexible :thumbsup2

I also had a dream last night that I woke up super late and came on to check and you all said that the first 40 rows of every show in April had been booked and they were doing a line for people to get in that they estimated to be 2-3 hours long. I was SO DANG UPSET! You know the obsession is bad when it invades your dreams!

My thread notification emails are just streaming in omg. How am I supposed to know when something actually important happens! I need to go to sleep I've been awake all night!

did my daily check of the HUB, nothing yet but creative entertainment released their weekly calendar and it still sayd RoL opening April 22nd. Also some info on the Tree of Life I don't think any of this is new

What is the awakening of the Tree of Life? Each evening, the Tree of Life will draw Guests to Discovery Island for a lively gathering where the animal spirits of the Tree are brought to life, revealing moments of wonder and enchantment. The Tree of Life connects all living things and in the awakening of the Tree, its energy is brought to life in the form of playful fireflies surrounding the tree, as well as other animations magically appearing.

How often will the Tree awaken? The Tree will awaken multiple times per evening at various times that are designed to surprise and delight our Guests and reveal moments of marvel. Once the Tree awakens, it will remain active throughout the evening with multiple 2-3-minute animal fables, as well as shorter, enchanting scenes of nature and animal activity.

Where can Guests see the Tree awaken? The best place for Guests to view the awakening is in the center of the hub. Guests will only be able to view the awakening at the front of the Tree of Life, nothing will be visible from the back of the Tree.

Is the Tree of Life awakening connected to “Rivers of Light”?These are two separate experiences to enjoy, however both celebrate the stories that animals can share and showcase the magic of nature. The Tree of Life awakenings are 2-3-minute-long experiences meant to surprise and delight Guests, where “Rivers of Light” is a nighttime, waterside show featuring lights, lanterns and lotuses.
