Rumors of Light (ROL discussion thread)

I'm off today because of the accident - ouch, my whole body hurts - so I'm able to spend my whole morning checking out the boards and this thread....who am I kidding. I'd be doing this at work, too! Lol
I hear you! Every time get caught up and I am ready to get up and do something, someone else posts, and I have to check it out.

Aside from whether or not ROL is going to open soon with preview parites, FP, and dining packages, when the heck is Disney going to update the hours and give times? And not just for AK....isn't the summer hours usually extended by now? We are going in June and MK is still scheduled to close at 10pm every single night that EMH is not offered. May even has is closing at 11pm on most nights.
I personally think this had more to do with the added morning magic hours and the new after hours. If it is successful than I can see Disney adding this as a paid option for each park.

Same here. @ArielSRL I hope you feel better soon.

any word?
I spoke with two additional CMs via WDW-DINE and both only saw March 8 - 22.

I do have a DVC friend who I asked to check for me, and she called through the DVC number and her CM did not see it at first, but stated she was correct and it just came out today. It can be applied to previous purchases, new purchases, or applied at the desk on the day of the reservation.

She only asked for my date, 5/14. I will see if I can get any more information.

Well I think we are doing Sanaa for dinner on the 15th now... possibly followed by "Drinking around the Monorail" or "Drinking around Disney Springs". Nothing like drowning our sorrows in alcohol!
I am considering changing my dinner reservation from Tusker house to Sanaa on 5/16. The only thing that makes me hesitate is that my friend has never been to Disney and its a character meal. I just don't know If I want to spend that much. What do you all think?

Hi all - coming out of lurking... I've been following along and hoping for weeks for the release of some kind of information about the ROL dining or a Tiffins opening... now that I'm on spring break I will be a little obsessed... our trip isn't until August but a girl has to plan!

After my DD5 did BBB a year ago, we saw the Tremaine sisters and Lady Tremaine walking around the carousel - DD ran up to them to show off her princessness that she got from BBB - the loved on her and took us all for a ride on the carousel - it was awesome! They were so funny! Such a great memory!
:welcome: I am also a summer traveller. Our trip is in July, I don't have the urgency of those travelling in April or May, but I still am not able to finalize. When I originally did my ADRs I was basing them on AK closing at 6:00 so I planned to hop over to Epcot to eat on my AK days. I've cancelled one of them in anticipation of this. I just want to finalize. And I really want a dining package!!

I HATE to be the bearer of bad news but for some reason I still have access to the HUB, today is the day the parks post their in park events and now it shows the preview events all cancelled.
It's showing the 15th Premium Preview and both the 16th and 17th preview events cancelled...they were cancelled 3/22
There's an event showing for April 19th called "Awaken Summer" no details on it, it's all TBD other than to say it's a promotion event, for 600 people and will start at 7:15pm until 9pm. It could be DPB meet up or just bloggers and media event
sorry everyone

Thanks for keeping people informed. All news is helpful. I think dining won't open up until after this show is up and running, just my hunch, I would have thought that FP would be available sooner though. Who knows....

Hello everyone! This is my first time posting on one these forums. I have actually been following this thread since the beginning. You guys made me feel compelled to finally start an account an join in on the fun/madness! =) So just wanted to say "hi" before I start chiming in. I have to say you have all been very entertaining!

:welcome:

Lol we're good thank you! Going for long walks and eating pineapple and spicy food and sporadically yelling at my stomach "GET OUT!" The usual.

You might have an Easter Baby!! Hang in there!

Oh dear....sorry to hear that your body is aching, not surprising after what you went through! I hope you start to feel better soon!!

Which do you think she'll like better? We loved Tusker House breakfast but honestly I am not a buffet person aside from breakfast food (I don't know why). Sanaa was really good with the bread service!

We haven't eaten at TH before. We usually make a Jiko and a Saana reservation every trip. Saana is a wonderful restaurant, lots to see, great food. :goodvibes

She is game for anything she said. We are booked at Akershus for breakfast so we have that character meal but not one with Mickey. That's what is pulling me to keep Tusker

We love Sanaa, and like Gwynne said, the food and atmosphere are wonderful, as is the service. Since you have a character breakfast that day already, I'd definitely choose Sanaa. If you want her to see Mickey, I'd just plan to find him at a park.

Thank you! That's what I originally thought but it is EVERY single night in September. Parties are Sunday, Tuesday & Friday so I really don't understand! We moved our trip up to get a better deal on the room and we missed the ADR window by ONE DAY and there isn't a single BOG dinner the whole week! I can understand though when it's only open from 4-6pm. SO weird!

I would keep stalking it. My guess is that they were holding it until they were sure when the parties were what hours they were going to extend to etc. I'll bet they release some especially where they already have hours posted as going past 7. Not sure when you are going but for example Sept 3 has hours till 10 right now and they recently added wishes at 10 but its still only allowing you to request BOG through 6pm. I bet they release extra hours on all those dates they already have posted later hours past 7. BTW Crystal Palace reservations are the same only through 6 on the same night when hours go to 10.

Love Jiko and Sanaa!!! A couple of weeks ago, we changed our dinner ADRs from Tusker House to the Wave on April 27 since it didn't look like there would be dinner packages forthcoming in April, and it would be unlikely that they would convert an ADR into an RoL package. My friends are leaving the next morning and really wanted to eat at the Wave before leaving. It's an early reservation so if FPs become available for RoL in April, we can still try for them.....or can cancel The Wave and schedule a dining package. I have an early ADR at Jiko on the 28th and the plan is the same as the previous night.

Everything is up in the air but we've made plans and contingency plans depending on what happens in the next few weeks. We won't let it ruin our vacation and whatever happens, happens! Honestly, I am so used to Disney's planning being up in the air until near the last minute, followed by a mass scramble, that I always plan my vacation with contingency plans, hoping for the best. Been going to WDW since it opened, and haven't had a Disney vacation that wasn't magical in some way. If I didn't know I wouldn't be back in a few months, my attitude might be different.

I have been stalking this thread with all of you.... And DH and I were I were talking about it this morning... He is way more laid back and let's me do all of the planning. He doesn't mind where we go, eat, or what we see; however, he said there is no way we are waiting 2+ hours in line for any show (and I'm right along with him on that one!) If there are no dinner packages or fp's, then I guess we are not going to see it.... But these past 300+ pages have been fun!

At this point, this magical shaman better have flames shooting out of his butt!!

bread service at Sanaa....the BEST!!!!

I see this all over the Dis. Help me understand what this means. :hyper2: I like me some bread but I've never raved about a restaurant's bread service. Why is this so great?

I was trying to get TH dinner and at 180 days the park was closing at 5 so no dinner. When they extended the hours to 6, they opened up the ADRs about 2 or 3 days later. So be on the look out then.

Thanks all for the well wishes, I really appreciate it! I *think* she might be on the mend!

Now that I look at it, every single restaurant is only open 4-6p in MK the month of September. So I am thinking it has to do with the party and I just have to keep stalking Disney some more. I think my phone/computer should just be left on MDE lol.
