Rumors of Light (ROL discussion thread)

I've been a lurker on this thread for awhile now, and find the information and commentary wonderful!

This Club Villain news peaked my interest since I have 5/14 already booked. I called dining and the CM said AP discount dates are 3/8 - 3/22... waiting to speak with another CM as I type this
any word?

And yet no one has told the CMs who had tickets to the event. Why does that not surprise me?! I just text DH and forwarded on this news, and he replied that no one had told him yet, but he wasn't surprised. He also commented that the way I was going I might still be pregnant by then. He thinks he's funny.

I'm starting to think at this point RoL will open with no dining packages and no FP+, just stand by.

As I have watched my on site advantage for FP+ come and go (we check in on April 22) I would agree that it will likely be stand by only. Even worse as I read all the new additions for before and after paid events there is a part of me that worries that "AK After Dark" is coming for the low low price of $149 you can experience the Sunrise Safari and ROL.....limited tickets available. :crazy2: (THIS IS MERE SPECULATION AND MY CYNICAL SIDE SHOWING)

Hi all! I've been super busy with my SUPER sick 5 month old. Well, 6 months today. @ArielSRL - so sorry to hear about your accident!

I can't believe we have NO information still!

In other unrelated news, does anyone know why BOG is only open 4-6pm in September? I am getting angry for all kinds of reasons right now lol.

Sorry your little one is sick! :(

Could it have to do with MNSSHP party nights?!

WHY OH WHY did I wait so long to click on this thread? I'm on the boards every day. I'm not a lurker, but for some reason never clicked on this link until a couple days ago. I feel like I've really been missing out!! While I hope we have actual info soon, I must admit I'm a little sad to think of this thread ending. My trip is the first week of May. It looks like there are a number of others going at the same time. :)
:welcome::disrocks:

Was at AK late on Wednesday watching them test out the floats and some of the lighting for the show and talked to a few of the CMs. They confirmed that they are having a preview of the show for the AK CMs and their families but they haven't heard any more talk of ticketed preview nights. One said he heard it wasn't going to happen because of schedule conflicts. I've heard so many different rumors though so who knows?

Looking at the amphitheater seating area as it got dark and the lights came on- it is so pretty. It reminded me that I am actually excited for this show. I feel kind of bad for the people that have been working so hard to create the show since all this lack of information has kind of left a bad impression of the entire thing for many of us. It certainly has for me. I'm starting to agree with many of you that at this point they may start the show with no FP or dining packages and just standby only. Ugh. What a madhouse that will be! :crowded:

Maybe not exactly "new", but it does echo what someone (@ArielSRL ?) said yesterday. It's weirdly helpful to me to know that it's not "business as usual" and we're not collectively imagining how odd this is...

Hang in there - hope you're feeling well!
It wasn't me but someone did post it and I commented that I hoped it was true bc it would fit our plans.

Hope your baby is feeling better - it's so tough when they're sick at that age - you feel so helpless!

Thank you! That's what I originally thought but it is EVERY single night in September. Parties are Sunday, Tuesday & Friday so I really don't understand! We moved our trip up to get a better deal on the room and we missed the ADR window by ONE DAY and there isn't a single BOG dinner the whole week! I can understand though when it's only open from 4-6pm. SO weird!

I hope your little one is all better soon. That should have been fixed one the party dates were released.

My guess would be that they limited dining hours while finalizing party dates. Since the party dates were only recently announced and haven't gone on sale yet, maybe someone is just behind in adjusting dining availability for non-party nights. (ETA: They might be behind since they are working on the website info for events that begin next month.)

(Edited again to add: I hope your little one gets well soon!)

That is weird that it's every night. But if Beesly is right then that works to your advantage. If you missed the beginning of the window then once they extend the hours you can snag some primo times for dinner. Many were able to do that when Ohana moved their hours up earlier for Spring. I just grabbed a 3:45pm dinner in May for 8 people that I would have never been able to get otherwise.

Aside from whether or not ROL is going to open soon with preview parites, FP, and dining packages, when the heck is Disney going to update the hours and give times? And not just for AK....isn't the summer hours usually extended by now? We are going in June and MK is still scheduled to close at 10pm every single night that EMH is not offered. May even has is closing at 11pm on most nights.
I've read that they usually updated about 30 days out, so I'm not panicking...yet. We are 6/4-6/11.

The fact that not one night is showing a late night open in AK has me a bit panicked. I'm hoping Tiffins isn't screwing up the whole summer. A serious lack of sleep must be screwing with my brain. The lack of sleep is due to everybody in my house having a different schedule not so much all the stalking I've been doing. I can't wait for my dh to start working normalish hours again:crazy:

everyone who was planning on the preview parties should have a DIS meet :) put faces to the usernames, maybe Disney Springs or a resort

Well I think we are doing Sanaa for dinner on the 15th now... possibly followed by "Drinking around the Monorail" or "Drinking around Disney Springs". Nothing like drowning our sorrows in alcohol!
