Rumors of Light (ROL discussion thread)

I'm actually thinking of booking the early morning thing, depending on available dates. DS is right at 38 inches and he's excited to ride SDMT for the first time. We could kind of make a big thing out of this for him; go early, ride with (hopefully) a shorter wait, get breakfast, maybe ride again or do one of the other rides, then head out once it gets busy. Kind of make it a memorable experience for him. I just need to see some dates!

Oh, and still no baby.
Good luck and try and get some sleep while you still can

It's changed a few times but I'm basically due sometime this weekend.

Yesterday I took DS to DHS to see Lights Motors Action one last time before it goes away - it's his favorite show :( We got a backstage tour where DS got to sit in the red car, we got to see where they call the show from, we were allowed to walk around the set, it was awesome. But the guys all kept looking at my stomach like they were terrified I was going to go into labor any minute!

Hoping for a fast and uneventful labor for you and your family. Can't wait to hear the news of your new baby boy!

I book them to eat, strange as that concept is

Me too, mostly. I love breakfast in general. But I also love my early morning castle pictures. And I love being the first on a ride in the morning, which usually happens when we do a pre-park breakfast, since we don't head to the mountains or A&E. Last prepark breakfast we were first on Peter Pan AND on small world for the same morning! Let me tell you, small world on an empty boat without being able to see anyone in any other boats in unnerving, ha ha.

I hope you get to meet your new little guy here real soon.

I guess so far your DH's preview tickets are still in effect? Not cancelled as of yet?

The pictures are a nice bonus, we always want those. But we've never bothered with trying to get to a ride.

I wouldn't count anything out at this point. We leave Sat morning on our first DCL cruise (first cruise altogether for 3 out of 4 of us!). So with my limited connectivity over the next week, GUARANTEED it gets released next week!! :thumbsup2 ::yes::

Oh, and please cross your fingers for me that I will be able to register for W&D half from the island of Tortola... ... Disney timing has not been kind to me recently! ;)

May the Internet be on your side! I hope you get in to the race. Have an amazing time on your cruise!

Too funny!:D Very cool that you all got a backstage tour. :car: Hope your sweet little one arrives soon! :daisy:

Again disappointed by the upcharged "exclusive hours" offerings, unless they're not announcing secret details.
I also hope it's not happening during either of our MK days. :(

They have already said that there is FP for this. RoL is like F!, not Wishes and Illuminations (and parades). F! still has FP. There is no reason to jump to the conclusion that there won't be FP for RoL at this time.

And FP+ in a closed off seating area like it is at F! or ROL is much easier to handle than FP+ in open spaces like parades and fireworks. I'd look at ROL more like any of the stage shows that are offered and those FP+ are still pretty much existant. Crowd control in a theater is a lot easier than it is for parades and fireworks.

Just because they are testing floats doesn't equal the show itself being ready. It's the only explanation at this point.
  • The human element of the show has been in production/testing for a couple of months and performers are apparently now performing in the arena after hours. (Not that any of the performers could tell you)

  • The lighting elements have also been in for months as has the control room.

  • The floats have found their way on to Discovery River from their previous testing location and their GPS has been getting dialled in for a week now.

  • The video also shows that the stadium is near complete and 'themeing' is also near complete.
Just because details have yet to surface does not mean that ROL is delayed (Although it could be) there are so many external factors that could be affecting the release of firm information. For example Tiffins, How many Shows they are going to run per night, dinner packages (What to offer), the light over the false sunset over Kilimanjaro Safaris and so on and on. At the moment the positive certainly out weighs the negative for 22nd of April. The lack of firm information is annoying none the less.

All makes sense! But seems to me that they should AT LEAST know this by now!!!
