Rumors of Light (ROL discussion thread)

I most def need to cancel some dining. For June, I have 5 H&V ressies (3 are F! Pkgs) and two at T-Rex! I need to get on the ADR cancellation board bc I have pretty much narrowed our plans down.

I have 2 Hoop Dee Do reservations right now. I changed them twice and finally decided to keep 2 until I can decide what to do. I have 2 Cape May breakfasts and 2 dinners. I also have 2 Via Napoli lunches booked. I need to get it together and soon. I did cancel a dessert party at MK and one of my Sci Fi dinners. So I have one MK day and HS day figured out I think. We are going to MK twice so not sure about the other day.

My dining reservations are a mess too. I cant make up my mind what day to do what. I have 3 or 4 reservations on each day. I have been racking my brain to figure out which day to do what and cancel some ressies ! I don't like being a dining hoarder

Me either! Lots of contingency plans! But I feel like I need to keep options open until ROL is set, then we can finalize other stuff. I think I have 3 Boma reservations for our first night at AKL! It's one of the nights of the rumored preview parties. We originally had one time, then went later because we figured we'd go to the campfire, stay later at the pool, so was going to cancel the first one, then I heard about the party rumors, and needed an early one in case we needed to go back to AK for ROL! Now I'm not doing anything until I have it set - hopefully!

My timeframe poses problems too: we arrive on the 18th (so just after previews, it seems) and leave on the 24th. DP's birthday is the 23rd, and we'll be celebrating at Club Villain. So it looks like opening night is our only chance. This might be our last Disney trip for a while, but we'll definitely be back, so it won't ruin the trip if we can't see ROL this time around. But that's not stopping me from watching the boards/the Disney site like a hawk!

I'm crossing my fingers that you'll get some birthday magic and get a FP for opening night! Club Villain sounds awesome! Hoping that's till around when our next trip rolls around, which, like you may not be for a while

Which showing of villains are you going to? We'll be there for 9pm. Can't wait! Hopefully it's as good as when we saw it in January.

If nothing pans out with ROL at least we can drink ourselves into oblivion at Club Villain!

I've heard so many good things about club villain! I'm beyond excited for it. we're booked for the earlier booking right now--we fly home the next morning and I think 9:00 is just a bit too late (although I do hope it still has an adult feel at 5:45...). I hope you have a great time again

This makes me feel so much better! I have 2 and 3 reservations for the same place multiple times right now. I feel like a crazy hoarder, but I just don't know what to do. I probably look nuts sitting at the computer mumbling to myself "if Soarin' is open we'll be at this park at this time, if Rivers of Light does a breakfast package we'll be here, if Frozen is open we'll be here, if the new Star Wars fireworks are happening we'll be here..."

Ha! Or they think, "there a couple of people that REALLY like Boma!" I feel a little guilty for holding onto them. I really would like to release them into the wild, but there's been so much uncertainty planning this trip that I'm not letting them go until I know our plans...

I think it can sometimes be a problem, but the problems aren't because some people keep 2 or 3 possible meal times until they can decide closer to their trip (and definitely use the cancelation thread! you'll make another Disboarder very happy!). I think it was for last May, someone posted in the cancellation thread that they'd booked every possible ADR for be our guest they could until they settled. In not exaggerating when I say they had 15-20 times (across all 3 meals) to drop. that was, in my books, a bit outrageous.

this is the closest I've been to a trip with messy ADRs. but Disney really isn't helping us planners out, with so many things up in the air still. we can only be held responsible for a little overbooking to a point...

OK, I have looked back at some of this thread and can't find anything about preview parties? We will be leaving WDW on the 18th so I am really interested in this. I assume that Disney has not said anything, but what are the rumors?

I have used the cancellation threads before and love them. I have gotten a few reservations on them and have helped a couple of people. I try to get rid of my extras as soon as possible but this year it seems harder.

We did a 4:15 Club Villain in February and it was still very "adult" - you are going to love it!!!

A lot of people seem to like Club Villain....it doesnt do a thing for me, am I missing something? Mind you, im going in July and it isn't even planned to be going in summer that I'm aware of.

I'm guessing because it's an open bar/adult event, yet quintessentially (albeit "dark side" of) Disney. Sounds fun to me, but not DH. He doesn't like villains lol.

Thanks for the link... I guess my question should have been more specific! I was wondering from people if people who have gone could give me a better description than what is on the website.... DH and I are going on an adults only trip and I can't figure out if this is something we would want to do? It seems like people like it, but for the life of me I can't seem to figure out what it is!!!

I like the villains fine but idk. I definitely wouldn't pay to go to it. However, I'll be all over the Star Wars dessert party should they have it this summer!!! And can't wait for all the animal kingdom night events!!
