Rumors of Light (ROL discussion thread)

June 7th for me as well!!! (with a FP) We're spending the first half of that day at Blizzard Beach, so I hope we all have the energy and stamina to make it to the end of the night! :tilt:
Awesome! We will have to look for you guys there! And if we miss each other, there's always Chef Mickey's!

Hi Nari! That's a great question. I forgot to mention it.
We're doing the Dining package, but I also have a fastpass booked for the same show. My DH isn't interested in back to back performances. We're most likely going to take the view with the dining package, because we'll have some friends in that section. If you're going to be there, let me know and we'll look for you to say howdy! We'll be waiting awhile till showtime.

Cool. Not going til sept but asked as I've got the dp and still doubting whether it'll be or not included

Have a lovely time

Ok - finally going to sit down and write a bit about my trip. We arrived on Sunday and got to the room about 2:30 after getting our refillable mugs, so we took busses to get to AKL to walk around before dinner at Sanaa. We saw baby Gigi but she was lying down so no good pics of her. We walked around the resort and stopped in at Mara for a zebra dome cause we were hungry as our flights landed after lunch and all we had eaten was breakfast. Dinner at Sanaa was so good! We got the bread service with all the sauces - liked the spiciest one the best and the cucumber one was a good balance to it. Most of them were good but those were the favorites. Then we got the butter chicken/Durban shrimp and shared it - we probably could have stopped with the bread service so we didn't need a lot more. Then we took the bus to DS - the new section opened that day. We stopped in the Patisserie and got dessert after we walked a bit and shopped at WoD. We got the chocolate mouse and the cheesecake - both were good but the cheesecake won. Walked thru the new section which is very nice but we aren't big shoppers. The Poutine place had lots of customers - it is across from the patisserie - but the Sprinkles cupcake place was insane - you would have thought Anna and Elsa were there the lines were so long. princess: We stopped by Goofy Candy company to make our own rice krispy treats before we headed back to the room.

Monday morn we headed to AK - me sporting my ROL shirt. it was EMH so we headed straight to Safari and got right on. Then we walked in the PF and Jungle Trek - then we used our FP for EE - which I had never ridden before and was glad I didn't get sick. LOL It was fun tho - then we went over to FOLK. After that we ate appetizers for lunch at Y&Y. we walked some more and finally went to the FoW show. We headed down to Dino land and was in line for Dinosaur but something was happening as the FP line was building up so we skipped it and walked around - the other rides had too much wait also so we wanted to see Nemo show. After Nemo we went to KS and got somewhat wet but it wasn't bad. THen we did the FP for safari again and went to eat at TH for supper. THat was fun as always. We were seated next to a table and they were celebrating a b-day with a huge cake but they had a poster sized picture of a little girl with them. So I struck up a conversation and found out that that would have been the little girls 3rd birthday and they had planned the trip a year ago and she drowned in August. Her dad and grandma were there with some other friends and they wanted to still celebrate her birthday. My heart broke for them but they characters were really good and took pics with the poster and everything for them. After dinner we headed to the Boardwalk but by the time we got there it had stsrted to rain so no performers were there so we took the boat to HS to catch the bus back to our resort. Transportation was hit or miss and this nite was a definite miss but we finally got there.

Tuesday we headed to MK. After pictures, we headed straight for Buzz and rode it twice walking on. By then it was 9:30 and we thought we would look at SM to see what it looked like. It was also a walkon so we rode it as well - never did that one before either. then we headed to fantasyland and rode Mermaid and then our FP for 7DMT. Rode some more stuff at fantasyland and then went over to BOG for lunch. After lunch we headed to Country Bears and then rode FP for HM. Then headed to SPlash which we found out went down after we got in the FP line but they got it back running pretty quickly and we were able to ride it and got off just in time to line up for the parade. After the parade we headed back over to tomorrowland and rode the people mover. Clouds started moving in while we were on and just as we got off it started raining a little so we ran over to CoP. We got stuck in the 60s. LOL It was hilarious. THe audience kept barking with the dog, Give 'em a left with granny, bursting out in song, etc. Even when they turned the sound down we were quoting it. It was so much fun - we were out of the rain and in the cool so it was ok. By the time we got out, the rain stopped. I think we were there 30-40min. THen we decided to eat at Pecos bills for supper. We headed back to fantasy land and roade the tea cups and then got in line for Pooh ride. When we got off the Pooh ride it was pouring. SO we go to get the ponchos out of my backpack and somehow, only mine made it so I wasn't going to wear it and have my coworker drenched so we headed to the exit as the rain wasn't going to stop according to the radar. We were drowned rats. We got back to the room, got hot cocoa and settled in for the night. I was planning on that night being the MSEP and Wishes nite. Wasn't happening. Parade didn't happen even tho Wishes did.

Next email...

Wednesday was MK part 2. Before MK we went to Kona for breakfast - Tonga toast for her and Macadamia pineapple pancakes for me with French press coffee. Then we headed to MK just as they were opening so we headed to Adventureland. Rode Magic carpet and then Jungle cruise, then went to Tiki room for some AC - it was so hot an humid that day. Our first FP was PP so we rode that then we headed to the riverboat. After that was the FP for BTMRR - I love that ride. THen we went to the hub for the street party - I was dancing with Woody! LOL Then we had FP for Pirates right after so we rode that. So I checked to see what was available for FP and almost immediately was a FP for Belle and I had been wanting to see that so we did that. I volunteered for a part - I was a dish. LOL SO I got to take a pic with Belle. I then got another FP for BTMRR After that we rode IASW and started heading to the front of the park to head for the HDDR. That was a fun show. We were amazed that the rain had held off as this was the day the most rain was predicted. After the show we rode the boat back to MK and were going to ride monorail over to GF. Monorail went down. So we took boat over and went to sit in the lobby of the GF for about an hour where it was cool and relaxing. While there, we got notification that BTMRR was down so our FP would have to be used elsewhere. Took boat back to MK and decided to just go meet Mickey instead. Then we watched MSEP and Celebrate the Magic and Wishes - I got some awesome pics with my iPhone 6. Will never need a camera again.

Thursday we headed to EPCOT. It was EMH but we had an ADR at 8:30 so didn't get to ride anything but took our time heading to Akershus. I didn't realize they were still doing the pics with Belle so I got another pic with Belle. Food was good and the princesses were nice - we took pics and I even got a cupcake and card because I was still celebrating my bday from April! LOL Then we headed to the Land pavilion and rode the Living with the land. THen we went to the Figment ride and the Short film festival. We next had FP for TT. That was fun - another ride I had never ridden. Last time I tried, it went down. Then we headed to Spaceship Earth. After that we headed over to WS. Stopped to get the grouper at the food booth on the promenande. THen we went to Mexico and rode the boat ride. We skipped Norway since we had been there that morn and went to China, Went to the Reflections of China and then shopped. I bought an umbrella and shipped to the resort. We start heading on and when we got to the African outpost, the bottom fell out of the sky so we ran under an umbrella table with two other ladies to wait it out. We had the ponchos this time but the shoes got soaked. An so did my backpack so my card I got at Akershus with the princesses siggys got wet and tore. :( When it slowed down we headed over to the american pavilion because that was where the only restrooms open on that side of WS were. Started raining again and didn't let up for a while. Got the pork ribs at the food booth and then decided to stick around and see Voices of Liberty and the AMerican Adventure show. Was still raining so we stayed in the portico until it stopped. Then we went back to Germany and stopped at Karamel Kuche for the caramel corn. Then we headed to Japan to look around and finally went back to Italy for VN ressies. I mentioned here last week that we didn't care for the pizza but loved the zeppole. And it was way too noisy in there. We got out about 8:45 and watched Illuminations and headed home

Friday was the last day at Epcot. went straight to Character Spot and were 2nd in line .Then we had FP for MS - we did the green version. rode Ellen's ride then headed over to the Seas. We rode the ride, went to Turtle crush and then headed to the Land for the Behind the Seeds tour. That was really interesting. After that we headed to WS to snack. We stopped at the British booth for the salad and lemon scone, then went to France for the Duck, onion tart and macaron. THat was my favorite until I got the shrimp and grits. Then I couldn't decide. LOL Rain clouds were moving in again so we started heading back to the front. We stopped at the other booths on the promenade and tried the pork tenderloin and I got the violet lemonade and my cowoker got the pineapple soft serve with rum. THen we headed back to the hotel to get our luggage and a cab over the the Rosen Shingle Creek for the conference we were attending.

So they took us to Harry Potter Hogsmeade on Sat nite. Had butterbeer which is way too sweet for me. I was not impressed with IOA. They are not as accomodating as Disney is for larger people. I couldn't ride sthe Forbidden journey ride as the harness wouldn't go over me. But I can say I tried it and wont be back - I am sticking to Disney.

So that's my tripin a nutshell. Had a great time and wish the stuff opening this weekend had been available but I still had a blast, in spite of the rain too. LOL

Thank you so much for sharing. Sorry to hear about UNI my boys really are looking to have quite a bit of fun over there

For all those who are set to enjoy all the new activities at Disney, especially the nighttime ones at AK....enjoy.:thumbsup2

For all those wearing 'Lounge' shirts and pins as a protest, keep up the good fight and post any reactions you get! :stir:

For all those who missed out because the folks at Disney didn't hold up their end of the bargain (but still had a great trip anyway), cheers :drinking1
I'll see you in the Lounge.:wave2:

I'll resurrect my presence on this thread on page 666.

I need to come back more often, I miss the frenzy and craziness.

My most found memory was the s*** storm when the live blog did the show about rol and we were all ready to book .

What about the magical Saturday we were all told to watch for Important News on the Blog...only to get a big fat nothing!

This isn't animal kingdom related....but I am venting...

OPEN UP STAR WARS DESSERT PARTIES FOR SUMMER!!! WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR DISNEY???

Ok, I feel better. Back to regularly scheduled programming...
OMG I JUST SAID THIS SAME THING TO MYSELF (OUT LOUD!!) 5MIN AGO!!!

:rotfl2: :rotfl: :rotfl2:

I hesitate to DARE to say this, but I think it's the only thing I'm missing for Aug... ... unless they replace Club Villain with something cool (or magically bring it back).

I know. It's become an annoying missing link in our plans. I'm sure they'll open it up on the day I don't check, and I'll miss the boat.
