I finally decided to chime in because I, too, was received a call from guest relations after sending an email to "George". And, like other posters, I was also told to watch the blog on April 2nd! Keeping my fingers crossed and totally enjoying everyone's comments on other blog posts in the meantime!

I'm sure something will be posted today or tomorrow because I'll be at a wake of a close family friend who passed away and tomorrow is the funeral and then out after with the family until who knows when, it's rude to be on your phone during those events and I refuse to do it but now I'm nervous that I'll miss the announcement and the FPs/dining will be gone by the time I can check a phone *sigh* if that's how it happens, I guess it is what it is, maybe I can get some help from above to snag a ressie of some sort if they are released this afternoon/evening or tomorrow morning/afternoon/probably evening, either way respecting her memory and being there for her family is worth more to me than ROL so bring it on Disney!

on a happier note, roll call : arriving 4/21 at Pop Century with my sister and leaving on 4/29, AK on 4/22 (only day we can go there at night unless we do some serious work on our itin which we just simply do not want to do with FPs/ADRs

This is what is posted on the HUB (internal CM site) and it's the only info I'm relying on at this point:
April 19th there will be a promo event called Awaken Summer, it doesn't say who's invited but I'm thinking travel agencies and bloggers (this is my thinking). Same event will happen at DHS the day before (April 18th) and take over the dessert party, this is why the dessert party for fireworks shows unavailable that day at DHS
No word on CM or AP previews, the preview events that were showing up are cancelled
It still shows as April 22nd for RoL opening day

@yulilin3 are you still lurking around here? Can't see the info your SW thread but since it has come up - are SW fireworks running the first week of May? I thought they weren't scheduled after April 30th.

Is the above the lastest info or do we think it is a misinformed cm? I honestly wouldn't be surprised if it were true given all the nickel and diming going on lately.

I also vote misinformed. She then began talking about notices when Pandora is near opening, etc so I dismissed her as 1 more CM who was clueless. As I stated in my post: 1 CM wanted to delete all my tickets when I wanted to add a day to my tickets (thus losing all my fps), and 1 CM wanted to cancel all my hard darn near impossible to get dining reservations because I wanted to upgrade to the dining plan. That would absolutely devastate me.

Wife just received note from CM who's part of RoL show (my wife teaches with her mother and knows we're going to AK at end of April).... official open is STILL April 22nd. No delay. No word on sneak previews yet.

Seems like the confirmations were made yesterday...So that's a good sign, and I'd expect FP/ADR sooner than later.

Since we now know April 22 is firm with no delay,that makes me think the wdwnewstoday info "may" pan out.

I have a massive Debbie Downer theory for the April 2 announcement. I wonder if it may be an announcement that the show is delayed and they are pushing back the opening date "because we always want to exceed the expectations of our guests". They tend to drop bad news, like price increases, on the weekend. Also, if they'd dropped that today, we'd all think it was a big prank.

Now that I have put this out there, it will TOTALLY be an announcement about FP and dining because I am always wrong. Come on Disney, keep my streak alive!

A few folks on this thread got phone calls from WDW about watching the blog on April 2nd. I don't think WDW would have done that if it was going to be bad news, but just my thoughts.

Zero chance of that CM being correct. They may well have some sort of paid events but there is no way they will have Rivers of Light only for paying guests.

Anything is possible but I'm going with very, very unlikely. If they were to do that I do not believe they would call people who are clamoring for information to tell them to watch for bad news. They would just post it.
