Rumors of Light (ROL discussion thread)

Every morning I give my son his medication at 6am. And every morning I check this thread after. I'm not even looking to book a RoL package. But I've got hooked on the thread and feel like your cheerleader. I've got fingers and toes crossed for you all!

I am keeping my eye out for a FP+ though!

Come on Disney! Let's go!

Okay, San Angel Inn was mentioned so I'm going to roll with it since we don't have ROL information to discuss right now.

People often say there are so many good places to eat at Epcot, yet when it comes to individual restaurants I feel like I hear about more bad experiences than good. Even a place like Via Napoli gets a lot of bad reviews (and yes, many good ones as well). So which restaurants in Epcot are consistently good in your experience?

We really liked Tokyo Dining! So much so that we ended up going twice for lunch on our last trip.

Only three more pages y'all.....

"I came for the info, I stayed for the Hootenanny."

(Accolades to the many awesome DISers for their humor. I was trying to read the posts from this morning to my husband, before the work commute, and I couldn't get through them without laughing. I had to get a tissue I was laughing so hard! Love that Morning Hootenanny!)

*As always, TheFloatingBear gets credit for the phrase Morning Hootenanny, and maintaining its standards. :goodvibes

Don't need credit - unless Disney decides to use it, lol! We need to get going on our t-shirts!! I agree - I've had so much fun on this thread and has made the "wait" go faster!

I want to start planning the ROL Un-Preview Party for 4/17! pixiedust:

I give DH the run-down when he gets home...he likes to keep updated!

My ds and I adore Tangerine Cafe. Yes it's qs but we've always left happy and full. Sometimes I think we have more fun just snacking our way around WS splitting a few things along the way.

Ok came here to check for any updates but I see we're all still "pending" lol ...so I'll contribute to the Epcot question. Our 2 favorites are Coral Reef and Garden Grill. Coral Reef we've been going to for years and never disappoints but Garden Grill we just tried last year. It was great! Since we had a late dinner and "closed" the place, the character interaction was great and so was the food! Pleasant surprise!

We have been to Via Napoli many times, each time it has been great! Great food and great service. Another place we like is Biergarten. The show is cute and we love the food options. There is something for everyone, never a bad experience at either place.

Wow, most reviews I hear of Coral Reef are lukewarm at best. Glad to hear someone likes it! Garden Grill breakfast is on our list for this time. We'll likely be on the quick service dining plan so we're only doing a couple table service and that's one we all wanted to try. I'd love to try the lunch/dinner sometime, too!

We are looking forward to trying Garden grill breakfast. We have been to dinner a few times and the last few times, the food seemed to be lacking. We have been to Coral Reef, and found it not bad foodwise, but the service was slow. The waitress was extremely nice and helpful, just slow.

We tried Garden Grille for the first time last year for dinner - we really enjoyed it! We really enjoyed the food and a ton of character interaction! Almost too much at one point, lol - we were "Oh dear, here comes Chip and Dale again - awkward!" But I do appreciate the family style with character meals - so much easier to me! I'd like to try the breakfast - looked like they had bloody Mary's!

When you say she was slow, do you mean she took too long to bring drinks or she had trouble adding whole numbers with her shoes on?

I feel like all the meals we've had at EPCOT have been at least pretty good. We really liked:
- Garden Grill (though the food was good, good sangria, good characters, restaurant rotates)
- Rose and Crown (solid food, good beer, private viewing area for Illuminations)
- Sunshine Seasons is one of the best quick service location in all of WDW in my estimation
- L'Artisan des Glaces (those brioche ice cream sandwiches are amazing)
- La Cava - best margaritas on property
- Monsieur Paul (very good, not cheap)
- Akershsus (we like the breakfast and get to meet a bunch of princesses at once)

We are doing Spice Road Table for the first time our next trip and are excited about ti

Love Via Napoli, but Teppan Edo took over as our fave 2 trips ago !
