Rumors of Light (ROL discussion thread)

Yeah I saw that the other day and rolled my eyes. Everybody has the same information (or lack of) right now, so we might as well chat in the mean time! Their 'on topic' thread doesn't have any more information than this one.

They are probably watching this one for the latest news and then rush back to the other one to post updates!

The only part I found very odd is it hasn't been that long since they announced the debut date
It seems very unlikely they would know it's opening date just 2 weeks ago and now have something that would cause such a delay that they can't say when it will open

I tend to agree with this - at this point, they need to be fairly close, at least close enough to know that they shouldn't announce "April 22nd" on the website (can't remember the first day I saw that, but just a couple of days ago) if they wouldn't be able to get it done. Am I making sense? Close enough to know if they weren't going to meet their deadline...

I'm thinking they pushed it back because Soarin and FEA are taking longer than originally suggested.

I really hope not. I really want soarin and FEA by June. I'm thinking Tiffins is not ready yet. I haven't heard much about it. No menus, nothing....

That thread is also not 113 pages long. Some people just want information. There is nothing wrong with that.

likely common knowledge but i cannot figure out 'where' this night time show/stadium? is going to be located @ AK...please don't say on the river

Did I mention that when I called today about ROL and was on hold, I was tortured by the Soarin' music? One of my faves across all 4 parks, sad I will miss it this time around!

Sure. But not sure why a remark like the one quoted was called for. Why should they care that on a discussion board, people ON ANOTHER THREAD are discussing things rather than just reporting "it's not open", "it's open"?

Seems humorous when much of the "facts, just the facts" posted there appear to come from here.

I also don't have a problem if a thread is set up to be a "facts, just the facts" - that's fine. It serves a purpose, like Rteetz's news and rumors thread. However, even that one gets off topic and when those looking for "just the facts" complain, there are conflicting opinions.

This thread, as many have said, has developed into something more than an info-only thread. If folks don't want that, there are others that stick closer to topic. I personally like the positive interactions between most here. It's not meant to be a strict, stay-on-topic thread. But it still gets the info out for anyone who wants it. Thanks everyone!!

For my purposes, while I have not attained my ultimate goal yet - ROL guaranteed seats of some kind - I have gone from introverted lurker, to earning my ears (?) to Mouseketeer on this thread. So, there's something...

And I keep hope alive that in a few weeks I will be at a ROL preview party and I will run into @AngiTN and her mom rocking their tiaras and other April folk and we will be enjoying our magical lantern-themed cupcakes...


Now...if that does not come to pass, y'all will have to listen to me complain for a page or two, and then I will look forward to your reports of ROL...

Totally agree!! I often just want the facts, particularly with so much up in the air this time! And that's fine -- BOTH are fine.

But every now and then, there's a thread that naturally becomes more than that: a fun, good-natured, non-nasty () place to get info and commiserate. The SWW thread felt similar, and it still is a source of info exchange in a NICE environment. I love it.

Saw this on another ROL thread pertaining to this thread ... Not necessary. I've found this thread informative and I've enjoyed the other conversations.

I am going to be devils advocate here but I doubt that person was trying to be negative. Unlike me they may have not followed this thread from the beginning and just want to go somewhere that they can get a quick answer. I did not get the impression they were trying to be rude. That is what makes the written word hard sometimes because everyone reads it a little differently.

Well FEA was slated for the beginning of May and it's been pushed back from everything I'm hearing. Soarin was June 2nd and it's being pushed back to end of June/early July (again, what I'm hearing).

Yes, I've been actively following both threads. The comments quoted were not meant negatively, but in response to someone who sort of rudely implied that the OP shouldn't have started their ROL watch the thread, since this one already existed. The OP was just trying to explain why they created the new thread.

Well, I don't know how long they can go. I would say we have a ways to go... But I am trying to be positive about things and I say, we're going to start some kind of roll call thread for people going to preview parties and such!
