Rumors? Check out this thread!!

I hope they would make it a different style. The Contemporary just doesn't interest me, it seems so bland. Kind of like the concrete stadiums that were built in the 1970's that are now being imploded. This rumor has been going around for awhile, I heard it a couple of years ago.

I agree. DH laughs because I refer to The Contemporary as "The Old-Fashioned."

:p

Which wing is the North Wing, the one closest to MK or the other side? Thanks

Boy, GeekChic's post really made me mad. Guess I am long overdue for some Disney Magic.

Me too Mickeycrazed, I had to respond to Geekchic. Didn't say what I really wanted to. I could not believe what I was reading from the person. They obviously don't have a clue as to what DVC is all about and what it takes to become a member.

I am constantly amazed by other people's perceptions of what DVC is. Like we are some kind of trailer park trash or something. Every deluxe, and some moderates, offer suites now, and DVC units are just like REALLY NICE suites, so I don't see what the big deal is. We would love to be on the monorail, but we may hold out for Poly DVC, LOL!!! I also feel that some people expect their resorts to be quiet and serene, but thousands of people not staying at the CR are visiting there every day to eat, etc.

There are a lot of people who can't stand change of any kind. Even if it's for the better! That's what I thought when I read her comments. What's funny when you think about it is that Disney owns the hotels and DVC. We're just leasing from DVC to lock in our costs is the way I look at it. It all belongs to Disney.

Kind of silly to hear her say DVC is taking over when it's all Disney. It's like saying Disney is taking over Disney.

I hope that they don't put a high rise in if this rumor is true. We've had Member Services tell us last year absolutely not on anything DVC at the Contemporary, but time will tell.

I for one, will have ZERO interest in that one! First off, a HIGH RISE VACATION CLUB holds NO interest for me, and secondly, MK is my least favorite park. This rumor has heated up a lot lately, so maybe it is true, but they wont get any add-ons from me. I don't like the high rise type timeshares in Hawaii either.

HAHAHAHAHA LMAO HAHAHAHAHA
WHere did this attitude come from? I think it is jealousy for sure! I know PLENTY of people here in NY that make way over 100K that own timeshares. So to think that DVC is for slobs when it is one of the most expensive timeshares out there is absurd!

I just have to laugh. Plus we own a piece of the world na-na-na- nanie!

I think I'd add on at CR. I have to agree with all the earlier posters that the present condition of the wings at CR are substandard for Disney. We stayed when SOG was being renovated (pre-DVC for us) but had I been paying rack rates for those rooms I would have been extremely disappointed. DVC would breathe new life into the place.

Don't forget, for those of you who don't enjoy MK as much, that the California Grill is (IMHO) one of the best restaurants in all of WDW. Also the Contemporary goes to FW by boat making the HDD and some of the other fun there really accessible.

Plus I think just riding the Monorail itself is fun! We try ride the resorts loop every time we are down there whether we are staying on the loop or not!

OK... That made me mad! I added "just my 2 cents..." on that thread just a sec ago.

Oh, this also reminds me of the thread about BC being like a KOA since BCV was added...

KOA? I can't figure this one out. It is not on the abbrev list either LOL

KOA campground - trailers, you get the idea... ;)

Another DISer on another board actually referred to BC feeling like a KOA campground since BCV was added!

Anyone post a link? I can't remember the thread it was in...

Oh ok what do the letters stand for though...I am sorry I have no idea what campgrounds you are talking about LMAO. But whomever said that should have their heads examined LOL a campground sheesh come on. If that ain't pulling at straws LOL.

C'mon everyone knows that KOA stands for Killed On Arrival.......no you say....?????

I join those of you who are confused about this.

Sometime I'll read comments that suggest that we're all uncivilized slobs who will bring down the property values by hanging our wash from the balconies and eating corn cold from the can in the lobby.

But other times we're portrayed as hyper-mega-rich snooty snobs who think we're better than everyone else and expect special treatment.

Hmmmmm.....

Oh, I probably wouldn't do an add-on at "CRV", but would love to stay there every now and then. While we love the location of SSR (yes, we really do! Honest!), the monorail / MK location would be great when grandchildren come along.
