Rumors about PI?

All I've heard is that the clubs on the waterside were in jeopardy, including AC. Some AC cast have been subs at the Warehouse before, so maybe they will end up over there. Otherwise...streetmosphere.

I can tell you that none of the current seven Disney owned clubs are in jeopardy of being closed, with the possible exception of BET. This info is from several entertainment and food & beverage souces in middle managment. The BET company pulled out over a year ago but let PI keep the name and club open. Now as for the T-REX, it will go between Fultons and the current PI parking lot(behind the old valet stand), where there is currently a smallish murky lagoon. The parking lot behind the PI bus stop has just been closed(lot G, I think) and will house the construction equipment for the filling in of the lagoon and the building of the T-REX. As for the building between AC and RRBC, it has been leased by a yet to be announced retail/restaurant concept. Also as for NYE, there will be no major bands playing live as in past years. The price for tickets is $89 and includes club addmission, a fairly descent buffet, champagne toast and a fireworks show(seen anywhere in DD).

May I ask what your sources are? I really want to get to 8TRAX and The Adventurers' Club in coming years, and to hear that either or both would close would make be sad.

Also, do you still have to walk into one club, get a wristband and then go into another club to confirm that you paid?

Sincerely,

John "MoreorlessaDisneyfan" Kilduff

all the rumors that anyone has heard seems to indicate that AC will remain. The others are up in the air.

Thats a shame about 8Trax - I liked it there.

I think the construction will totally spoil the atmosphere of the place. I'm there for my birthday in 10 days - will it be a mess? :(

I can confirm what Hillary said..

Once you get your stamp/wristband, you go between the clubs and show off your stamp & wristband.

I would think.

It's an absolute wreck--winding corridors through crowded streets...it looks like a war zone. What gets me is they kept the "Happy New Year" towers on the bridges...I'm hoping this means that they'll bring back the fireworks... Doubt it though. I think it's just poor planning.

I have also read that construction is tearing it up right now. I guess I'll just have to stay in Raglan Road...darn :thumbsup2

Make sure you stay inside Road or at least hang out over by the Hole in the Wall. It looks like a war zone.
I was hoping they'd get rid of the Harley Davidson store as well. What is that doing on PI, let alone Disney property? I never understood the shops in the nightclub district...

FYI, I ate at T-Rex in Kansas City, KS last weekend. I believe it's the first one built (but I could be wrong). My opinion: If you love Rainforest Cafe, you'll love T-Rex. Otherwise, it's just an overpriced and loud theme restaurant. We took our 2 year old son, and truthfully, I have no reason to go back. It just wasn't that cool. The dinosaurs were very loud, drowning out our waiter as he talked to us. We sat next to a giant fish tank, which was cool for about the first 10 minutes. The food was good, but very overpriced ($11.99 for a burger?).

Don't get too excited. Nothing new to see.

I think the idea was to have relatively unique, "hip" stores that are fun to browse. Considering most Harley owners are doctors and lawyers and accountants--the same upper middle class demo likely to drop several grand on a week-long trip to WDW--it strikes me as a good fit. Besides, it's like Bippity-Boppity Botique; little girls like to dress up like princesses, grown men like to dress up like bikers.

For me, the real tragedy of the PI construction is that the Jessica Rabbit sign has yet to return.

The big thing is that it'll help Downtown Disney with options of places to eat at. Between the current DTD options, on Thur-Sat you often times have BIG problems finding somewhere to sit without a looong wait.

There were often times we ( as cast members ) would actaully reccomend McDonalds on busy nights. Hopefully the opening of TRex will open enough tables to help this problem.
