This particular thread really took off when a rumor was reposted from Len Testa on the touringplans site about a rumored 4/3 deal. This kind of deal would really benefit those of us staying at a deluxe resort. Especially smaller parties. There was no mention of "free dining".

Then there were all these people who felt the need to post on this tread about how they are really hoping for free dining and how free dining is so much better etc. etc.

My point is -- can't we just have one thread where people can revel about a rumored discount that would actually benefit them? Can't you folks that benefit from free dining start your own "We really want the new promotion to include free dining" thread and post there?

It just seems like every thread about a WDW discount program is taken over by people posting about how great free dining is for their family of 4 staying at a value. We already know it's a great deal for you! We've heard it over and over again. But not everyone who goes to WDW is a group of 3 or 4 staying at a value. So free dining is not the be all and end all for us.

If you look back at Post 9 on the first page their was a rumor posted about free dining and/or 4/3 deal-this was one of the first rumors listed in this thread, not the one from touringplans. We all know what is best for us is probably not good for the next person, so we just need to wait until the actual deal comes out and is not a RUMOR anymore

Does this mean free dining also?

I saw that also, but it isn't on the Disney site so I'm not sure where mouseforless got the info!

Where did you find that TWyn? I found this:

When you purchase a 4-night/4-day non-discounted Walt Disney Travel Company Magic Your Way package with travel dates between 11/1/09 - 12/24/09 and 1/3/10 - 3/27/10 you'll get three additional nights (with tickets) free. This includes hotel nights and admission tickets! That's a week's vacation for the price of just four nights! If you're already booked on a vacation to Walt Disney World with Free Dining, we have reports that the Free Dining promotion is still the best value. If you are planning to travel during the first quarter of 2010, book now as the rooms available with this promotion is limited. Get a no-obligation quote from The Magic For Less Travel.

I am so torn right now. If the rumors are true it still doesn't help me as I am planning an April trip. Who knows what will happen. I sometimes wonder if its worse when you are waitingthan not knowing at all.

Hmmm! Anyone seen this anywhere else? I've never heard of this website, are they very reliable? I checked mousavers and a few other places and haven't seen anything yet there. Hope this is it and it's what everyone is looking for!

yeah... I have been on both before.... I am confused though... the way it reads it almost sounds like you can get the 4/3 plus free dining... that would be amazing though highly unlikely!!!

I am reading it as an either/or...2 different deals...at first glance, I was ready to change my dates for 3 free nights AND free dining, but I'm sure that would be giving away the farm...Oh, well....

BUT it IS what we have all been waiting for, right? A deal? ANd here we have 2 to choose from!!!:cool1:

I looked at their site too. I read it as quick service would be free, and you could upgrade to regular or deluxe. I really think this is too good to be true. Still waiting on official word from Disney.:surfweb:

I hate to be a wet blanket, but I think that is deffinately the 4/3 deal and there are just different codes you have to use based on the dining plan that you purchase. That's usually how it goes. 4/3 is still a good savings though:)

Hold the phone.. I just went and read the link.. it does look like free dining and 4/3. That would be insanity.
I will be really really suprised if that is the case..and I will also be whipping out the credit card so fast it will burst into flames:lmao:

I am on the phone with DISNEY!! IT IS OUT - 4/3 and I am getting it applied to my reservation now- I will update with the details ASAP :-)

I'm in the same position -- I have a room only reservation. Can't I just cancel that and get a package under the new deal?

I thought that was the advantage of doing room only -- that you could cancel more easily than with a package.

Before 45 days before your vacation start date, both are just as easy to cancel. Since the speculation is that the upcoming deal will be a package, IMO it makes more sense to have the reservation as a package. That will make it much easier to apply the pending deal. If you have a package reservation then the special can be simply applied to your existing reservation. If you have a room only deal then the CM will have to cancel your existing reservation, refund your deposit and create a brand new reservation as a package and charge you your new deposit. On the day that the deal comes out, there will be a LOT of people calling in and at that time I personally wouldn't want to be messing around with all of that.

I will ask you, since nobody answered last time, do you like the DP since eating out is not something that you rarely do at home. We eat out often so a meal out at WDW is not special.

My family really can't eat out very often at home because we deal with multiple family members having multiple food allergies and when we do eat out we're very limited in what we can order. At WDW, we can eat to our hearts' content. With or without free dining we'll always get a dining plan of some kind even if we have to pay for it. For us, free dining is the way to go. I realize that it doesn't work for everybody. For us, staying at either values or moderates, free dining comes out to be the best deal. When we eventually try deluxe resorts (boy would I love to stay at a monorail resort), I'm sure 4/3 will be better. We'll still buy a dining plan though. Eating at WDW really is THAT special for us.
