Rumored Black Friday VGF2 Sales

I know the OP is being facetious, but they did have a "cyber sale" last year that gave extra incentives starting a week before Turkey Day and ending a week after... So a "Black Friday sale" is not inconceivable, but would not be for a day only.
Yes, what were the ballpark deals last year? I didn't notice any deals, but I also wasn't in the market for more points right then, either.

Does anyone remember the Black Friday sale of 2010 where BLT and VGC were priced under $100pp when you factor in all discounts. I think it was in the $80-90pp range depending on how you valued points.

I do! I had just bought in February of 2009 for $92/point and the BF deal was even better and wished I could have gotten more that day!

Assuming there is any truth to the one-day Black Friday sale, the result will likely to be that few to none will actually purchase VGF on that Friday because the website will undoubtedly not work correctly and no one will answer the phones for less than a four-hour wait.

People were on hold for 36+ hours for the dumb Star Wars hotel, 4 hour hold for vgf2 is nothing

Yes but that was 11 years ago. As a comparison, I know BCV is selling at $245 per point now and even if they offered it at 50% off, it's still $35 per point more that I spent in 2010 at $90.

Three more days. popcorn::

I expect a big surprise announcement coming any time now!!!

Wait for it...

Zero chance dvc puts gfv2 on sale until they bring back annual passes. As annual passes are the whole point of buying direct why in the world would someone buy a dvc until annual passes return

I don't know about that. We bought direct DVC "because it was there".
I've never bought an AP in my 12 years of being DVC direct. APs are just one of several reasons.

How do you market gfv2 without annual passes. I can just imagine the sales pitch

Dvc: hey come spend $30k and get a blue card

customer: awesome I love gf. Tell me about the perks of a blue card

dvc: well you get top of the world and annual passes just for dvc members

customer: great. How do I get to top of world or a pass

dvc: oh sorry you can’t. top of world is closed and we are not selling annual passes

customer: tell me again why I’m buying gfv direct

dvc: little Timmy needs medicine and his crutches just broke. Help a bloke

I really don't think the majority of people they are talking to are asking about blue card/annual passes/perks. I honestly believe that most buyers out there are buying direct because they just shelled out a ton of money for their Disney vacation, their kids have fallen in love with it, and the concept of saving 40% on hotel stays is pretty attractive. If you just spent $15K on a vacation for your family, doubling that to "prepay" your hotels until the kids get tired of it isn't really such a big deal.

I think so too. That was our thinking at the time. I think that this forum has a way higher percentage of people buying APs then the general DVC membership. We had five kids when we bought in, and APs for 7 people was not in our plans. We started out with plans for visiting only every 2-3 years. We are eligible for the Military Salute Tickets, so we always did that. Now we go more and have a smaller family unit that travels, but I can still get quite a lot of TP time with those tickets which is cheaper than buying APs.

Well we find out in a few days. I predict no gfv sales until annual passes come back

Remember, this thread is for fun! VGF sales can not start until things are declared into the condo association so they legally can’t sell any new points.

When that happens..which it has not..that information will be out there and then we might have something to predict.

AP sales being paused would have no impact on selling right now. Many do believe they will begin when construction begins on the building. My guess is March

Due to the potential shortage of hard and soft retail goods this Christmas, there is a rumor that Disney is going to take advantage by starting VGF2 sales on Black Friday with crazy good incentives. I heard that the special incentives are only going to be offered for one day!!! After that it will probably be back to regular pricing with typical incentives.

Who's going to be with me logging on at midnight?!! :woohoo:

Someone mentioned Buy One, Get One.....

Still unclear which GF building are they converting to DVC? I understand they will only be studios like the Poly.

Giving thanks today that VGF2 sales with incredible incentives will be available tomorrow! :D
