Rumor: Water Park EMHs for September

I didn't see this posted anywhere...I apologize if it's a repeat.

Disney are set to conduct a trial of Extra Magic Hours at water parks. The current schedule (still subject to change) is:

EMH Morning (1 Hour prior to open) 9-10am, at Blizzard Beach on Aug 31, Sep 7, 14, 21, and 28.
EMH Night (3 hours after close) 7-10pm, at Typhoon Lagoon Aug 27, Sep 3, 10, 17, and 24.


Now, I haven't confirmed this, but I just thought I'd let those on the DIS know about it.

That is interesting. How safe is it you think at the waterpark after dark. Seems as though it would make the lifeguards jobs very difficult. Especially in places like the wave pool and such.

Don't they also have resort pools open to sometimes 10 at night?

I saw that over there too! That is so neat I would love to do the evening TL one on the 24th (although that is my arrival day...all the more reason to go a day earlier!).

TL does host some evening parties from what I understand and the lighting is good, BB on the other hand does not have the lighting needed to be open later at night.

I avoid the wave pool like the plague, even during the day. Can't imagine it at night, lighting or not.

Back about ten years ago Typhoon Lagoon was open late on Thursday nights during the summer - I recall ithe sky being dark -- but that place was well lit - not a problem at all. THey had some type of "summer party" with a DJ -- it was a lot of fun.

I read about this too... I hope it's true, if so- we're going to Typhoon Lagoon Sept 3rd at night! That's the day we arrive.

I've been to water parks at night, it's very cool. And you don't even have to wear sunscreen.
