Rumor: The Great Movie Ride closing for good?

The rumor is probably a corruption of previous rumors merging with speculation about the issues regarding the image of the Chinese Theater, etc.

Frankly, I think they need CMs who can SELL the script more. They mostly seem to, as they say, "mail it in".

LOL, on our way to Animal Kingdom this evening, the bus driver told everyone that the park was open until 11pm

DAK was open until 11pm with Extra Magic Hours. Sorry, but that was true information to the resort guests.

BTW - Did anyone else know that Mickey's name in "Fantasia" was Yensid, which is Disney spelled backwards.

Actually I thought that was the name of the soccer in Fantasia, not Mickey.

When we were there in Oct. 07 DH and I were talking about it. We thought they might "re-do" after the name change to update and include more Disney movies and less of the older movies that MGM owns/owned the rights to.

It's one of our favorite rides even if we can quote the lines before the tour guides does.

This can not be true. I returned from a trip in DEC and some of the ride looks like it needs a rehab, like the Ailen portion of the ride. So, I just hope that they rehab it only or my wife and I will be upset

i agree, but i also think the whole ride is good. like the memories from some of my fave moovies....wizard of oz will always be, for me, a timeless classic. if the ride closed, it would be a grate shame, as i think loads of guests would like it, and it's also good for the families, not to fast. first time i went on it, reminded me of small world for some reason

...wait open till 11 at night? ..but Disney said the tigers need their rest and they can't keep AK open past sundown? Those poor birds,crocs,tigers having to work overtime. Which union reps the anamial help at AK they must be up in arms over this.

This is true! Most of the animals do not work overtime... They get to go eat and sleep while the CM's keep the rides, shows, food stands, and shops running. A large portion of AK closes for EMH nights, i.e. all of Africa...

I wish they would do something with this ride. There are some parts that are entertaining but Disney could do better. Update this thing, PLEASE!

Count me in! That's my only reason for 'having' to go to Disney Studios any more. If that goes, so do I. Hubby and the kids can continue to go, but with the desecration of the Back Lot Tour already, if GMR goes, I wouldn't waste my time.

There is no reason to believe that what the boat driver told the OP has any truth to it.

So it hardly seems necessary to build a website.
