The rumor goes this will take up part of Toontown and the remnants of the Swiss chalet and be a NEW Frozen ride. The Epcot ride used the track of the old maelstrom Ride. This will be new from the ground up.
That means Bigger, badder, better.
--> set to complete the same time as Starwars land.

What have you guys heard about this?
It was first on Micechat and then on Freshbaked.

Rumor actually originated from spirit or wdw1974 on wdwmagic.com. This is the same frozen ride that Tokyo is getting. I've heard this will come a bit after Star Wars. They would pre needed to start already for it to be done by Star Wars opening.

Oh geez, enough already. Disney acts like this is the only animated movie they've made in the last 10 years. I don't understand it, Zootopia was successful, make a ride for that. How about some love for something else other Anna and Elsa?

P.S. I meant no offense to you Mr Mannn. But if I hear "Let it go" one more time I'm going to rip Olaf's head off. And I don't even have a 5 yr old daughter, so I can only imagine what their parents are going through.

I wonder how they're going to manage the space if this becomes true. So let's recap: According to many rumors, a good chunk of ToonTown is going away for a brand new ride. There are rumors for both a Fantasyland expansion and a mini Frozen land (probably the same project), and now the Mickey Mouse ride that is rumored for DHS is probably coming to DL as well (which would make sense to build in ToonTown). We'll see if any of this becomes true.

Princesses especially frozen are way more popular than say Zootopia. Yes Zootopia was successful but it didn't sell merchandise like frozen.

Yes the fantasyland expansion includes the frozen addition.

Yeah, but that doesn't mean everything should have a Frozen theme. People go to theme parks to do different things with different themes. They might as well give Frozen its own theme park, with Elsa's castle as the centerpiece. Or better yet lets kick Aurora and Cinderella out of their homes and let Anna and Elsa move in. (the last two sentences are a joke)

If this happens they've been placed in every Disney theme park in America since 2013, except for Animal Kingdom.

Magic Kingdom - they have/had two or more castle shows, the fairy godmother got her walking papers. Bye bye grandma.
Epcot - they took Norway away from the Norwegians
Hollywood - we have had to tolerate Frozen forced Summer fun and a show

Disneyland - a new ride will evict either Roger Rabbit or some Fantasyland characters
California Adventure - a new show, see ya later Aladdin, even a genie couldn't save you this time

even Blizzard Beach got Frozen

Disney is doing this to make money and it makes sense.

Frozen summer fun doesn't happen anymore at DHS.

Disneyland- roger rabbit is staying but the rest of toon town say goodbye. This is a fantasyland expansion not just frozen.

DCA- Aladdin was what 12+ years old? It's been rumored to be going away for a long time now and people say the frozen musical is done really well.

The difference between the management of the two coasts just amazes me. WDW - shove IP into an overlay of an old ride thus saving money while reducing capacity in the short run and staying stagnant with capacity in the long run. DL - spend money and build an actual new ride which increases capacity and held distribute crowds in the parks without hindering capacity in the short run.

I am 100% for this! But then I love Frozen and would love to see a ride. It took them 20 years to get my Little Mermaid ride. I would hate to lose some of Toontown, but I understand. My boys enjoy Frozen, so they wouldn't be that heartbroken to lose Toontown.

Except for ToT at DCA of course.

Just a note that we were just in WDW and the crowds there are still really into Frozen. Obviously huge lines for the new ride but even during the new Castle shows the largest cheers by far were when the Frozen gang came out and I was even surprised how loud and how many people were singing along with Let It Go, etc. I know a lot of people are sick of it, just like I see a lot of people complain about how much Star Wars stuff there is - but this does feel like something that still has legs with a large portion of the population

to be fair, WDW did get their Fantasyland expansion first which was much grander and is getting a Pandora land and a new Star Wars and Toy Story Lands and they just expanded hours at AK to make that a night time park as well ... it's not like nothing totally new ever comes to WDW

And DLR will do overlays too - they added the Disney characters to IASW and did the Tarzan overlay to the Swiss Family Robinson Treehouse

Don't get me wrong, the management in Orlando could use to take some lessons from the West Coast about ride maintenance, etc. but I sometimes think it is easy to pile on them

I think Orlando management should take lessons from the Pacific Ocean.

But also remember that Anaheim is forcing expansion in order for Disney to keep their tax breaks.

Jeez...you want to reread that again?

Just a tad too complimentary aren't you?

"Grander"? Repurposing a mothballed space from a ride closed in 1999 and moving some things around?

Grand?

I reread their post. Nothing incorrect about it. The new fantasyland is grander. It's actually quite grand. you do a dis-service to yourself and the the truth by describing it the way you do.
