You'll find it's not going to be too funny...unfortunately

We saw this the last two years in january and february...and you might think its "not bad"...but you might disagree after you've seen it.

Two problems:
1. It still "looks" like florida...aka completely blue skies except for high cirrus and a blazing sun...but it sure as heck doesn't feel like florida. Which is honestly a psychological distortion that messes with you...and let me tell you i would not normally be susceptible to such things.
2. Da Wind. Wind you ask? there is no wind in florida.
Well...there is when it gets below 60 degrees...and it gets strong, it is relentless and there is absolutely nothing on the terrain to break it up. 55 degrees feels much colder there than it probably does at home. Ironically there is absolutely no air movement when it is 97...so murphy apparently controls the weather

That all being said...December should be the cold spell for Orlando... it always was when i lived there. Usually december was when you got the nippy times and january and february were great. If that happened this year...it would be the first time in at least 3 years

If that forecast is correct, it still shouldn't matter much--just avoid any rides where you may get wet and you should be fine!!

The cold is going to be a plus I hope maybe it will cut back on some of the crowds. I live in the cold and plan for it.
Wind with shut down things like fantamics but I have a week plus to catch a show that I have seen several times.
Any ride that's outside with be colder splash mt river rapids ect with be colder but I can adjust.
Last year I went on Oct 31st and it was 90 just nothing you can do about the heat.
I will keep an eye on the weather and dry socks in my pack. Its all good from here!

I am goin to arrive on Friday and doing all the water things on Sat cause high is supposed to be 74 .

Would you do us a favor? If you ride the Kali River Rapids ride in the Animal Kingdom, would you tell us how refreshing it is on Saturday?

It was in the 30s once when I went to Disney World... I think that was three years ago in Jaunary if I remember correctly. The cast members told us it hadn't been that cold in about 8 years.

I bet they made a good bit of money by selling hot chocolate and winter gear that week.

Feb 2009 we were there and we were told that we had record breaking temps. 26 one morning! :scared1: That was Freaking cold!!!!

We got back Sat and yes it was cold. One morning we saw ice that had formed on the plants by the over spray of a fountain.
We rode the river rapids on AK but were smart and had ponchos got a little damp.
I did not mind the cold my sister looked like she was in the witness protection plan she was so bundled up.
The cold did slow the crowds down. We did rope drop most mornings and walked on to rides all the time.
If I had it to do over I would do the same thing...... you have to prepare for things. Showing up and not checking the weather is bad. They were selling a mountain of blankets and Mickey gloves. They are not too warm from what I saw!
So yes it was fun and funny:rotfl:......... You should have seen the shorts flip flops and 29 degrees.:confused3
