Rumor: Huge FastPass Change (Both Parks Linked Starting April 6)

I got a Premium AP for $320 in 2002. Now the equivalent pass is $850.

A little nit picky, but the actual equivalent pass to the old Premium is the Sig+, not the Sig. Sig has block out dates. The Premium did not and the Sig+ does not. So the equivalent pass to the old Premium is now $1,049.

Those of us who had old Premium vouchers (they've all expired at this point and aren't good for this trick anymore) were given Sig+ APs for them as that was the closest pass to the original offered perks.

While reading this thread, it brought up a question I've had in the past: Have the shows w/ FP ever been connected? I am by no means a historian, but I don't remember this ever being a thing... at least not in DL. In my head, I'm not sure what there would be to gain for DL to make such a move. Any thoughts?

I don't think they were ever connected.

The only thing they would gain by connecting them would be to make the FP inventory last longer (because people would be shut out of the system longer). They might also make the show FPs last longer (because people didn't want to waste a FP window on a show ticket). They might also increase the appeal of the upsell dining packages (so they could get the FP without having to tie up their FP).

The Disneyland app (as of 11:29 am Arizona time) is showing a Toy Story wait time of 70 min and distributing fast passes for 1:25 - 2:25 pm.

The Disneyland app won't show FP being distributed until the park is actually open. So if you are looking at a time of day when DL is closed or the ride is shut down, then that FP ride will not show FP times.

They've flipped a switch or something, then. I can confirm that after the park was open and people were reporting getting FPs for TSMM, the app did not show anything about FastPasses. That has happened at some point in the past couple of hours.

Which version of the app are you using? I have the iPhone version and it's still not showing FP info. And there's no available update for the DL app in the App Store yet. I'm wondering if Android's app is more up to date or if there's a hiccup in the software somewhere.

I can see it now in the iPhone app. Version 4.5.1

I have an android and my phone says "FASTPASS Service is not available for this attraction."

There are no signs or indications that the parks are connected until you try to get a new FP. So my earlier concern for confused park guests stands.

That's the same version I have so I force closed the app. Nothing. Shut off and reopened my phone. Nothing. Deleted the app and reloaded it on my phone. Voila!!! Success!

Thanks for the idea. I don't dare uninstall my app, but I cleared my data opened the app and waited for the ride times to populate. Now it shows me the FP return window. Glad this worked as I imagine the same thing might happen when Matterhorn reopens and Guardian opens.

This is such a bummer. We LOVED being able to grab fastpasses for both parks one after another.. things are going to be a little different during our next trip :(
