I still have never gotten a slider.

Or a magnet <ducks head>
We ask about the sliders when in the parks. I got the blue last one in HS a few weeks ago cause they had a few. And the cruise one cause we were on the wish. The magnets they don’t send anymore right? You gotcto grab em in the parks. Only ones I ever got were the ones they sent

I was referring to the DVC magnet debacle that was a big topic here in 2019(?). LSS - some people got them, some people didn't, some people put them on their cars only to have them stolen. It was a whole thing. I don't think we'll ever see DVC magnets again - lesson learned.
FTR - I did not get one. My one and only DVC resale contract was in ESCROW at the time so I did not expect to.

They DO give you a couple of magnets in the direct contract gift box, but you're right that they aren't sending them out annually.

I would be surprised ti see it offered to resale but if it is, I could see that being more expansive if you don’t have direct points or that it is tiered.

For example, $100 for direct members gets you access to all discounts for many things like tickets etc

Resale might need to pay $100 for just access to TOWL or other lounges,

But, to get discounts, resale owners need to pay a lot more each year?

I do think this is a hint though that TOWL lounge will not be free for all like it was prior to closure.

Or, maybe there is still a free program and this for additional things?

All depends on what is included for this new program but if it is $100 per membership I can’t see it not being worth it for is.
It's a weird line to walk. I have 350 direct points from "The Vacation Club" and 1200+ at OKW (57) resale. Am I less than a member with 500 direct points?

It seems to me that corporate America loves to give perks up front and then takes them away when new “what have you done for me lately” management comes in and looks to juice the numbers to get a bonus.

I can’t tell you the number of times I have seen great offerings that were profitable and good for the employee and clients get watered down or completely bastardized in the name of revenue growth. This leads to talent and client turnover, a change of management, and the cycle repeates itself.

At least reoccurring revenue models in theory produce some incentive for ongoing relevance of a product/service and a minimum level of customer service.
I think we can classify the original Food and Fun card as you described. Used to be 3 meals (appetizer, soup/salad, entrée, dessert for each guest (even < 3)); unlimited use of boats (as in free renting of a boat from the DVC marina that you drove yourself) and other recreation.

When it comes to perks, IMO, there is no such thing as less or more of an owner.

The membership extras are simply something you get when you reach a threshold…like any loyalty club

So, if they want to make the qualification for those extras only direct points, and not count any resale points at all, they can.

Doesn’t change your status as an owner because your points are still as usable as they have always been from day you purchased.

It's funny how the boards divide themselves as resale vs. Direct. Now, people are calling for a deeper divide. More points but direct only.
It's fine because I wholly support a new rule that would place the minimum points purchased to be equal to 1 bedroom (studios alone doesn't cut it); mid season at home resort. Too many "members" (who get the same magnets, pins, MAILINGS, and need to be managed) that have a single 50 point contract. There's a cost to manage each "member".

I personally don’t care who DVD decides to give membership extras to.

I simply think that resale vs direct vs eligible or not is based on whatever rules they want to put in place and it’s up to owners to decide if they matter.

So, if owning a certain type of point gets you something another type of does not, it doesn’t change your status as an owner.

Agree with so many others that this seems to be another money grab and not a lot of details. However, given what they have released, yea, I would be a quick purchase at $100.

Cough cough... cough cough...

I was initially worried they were taking the Sorcerer Pass away, but thank goodness I just missed the whole part in it letting you use points to pay for it. I'm interested in what the special price tickets will end up costing; bummer that the Disneyland ones are for weekdays only.

I do think the BOGO for the OTUP is something that makes this worth it since I usually buy some to keep saving points. I actually need to buy some this week, sadly for end of this year.
