:) I just talked to a family member at the MK right now and they told me there are construction walls up by the HM que. They asked a cm what was going on and they were told that they are removing bodies from the graveyard. :scared1:
The family of someone (an imagineer) burried there wants the grave moved.

While I really doubt that this is true, I had to share it and see if anyone knows what is going on behind the wall at HM.

They're making an interactive experience within the queue. I read it on another website. Althought the "removing bodies" story is pretty awesome.

Thanks! :rotfl2: It sounds like fun. I'll call her back and let her know.

I figured it was just a rumor. I just know CM's make up stuff to cure the boredom sometimes.

True or not they just need to leave non essential repairs and upgrades alone for right now, half the park is tore apart or being upgraded, everywhere you turn there is some wall that has been built.

I'm all for the get as much done at once, save the dollars in the down economy and offer a great park experience when all complete.

Yeah I can see your point but what about the people who have maybe planed a once in a lifetime vacation... There needs to be some balance and right now I think its not a good mix of improvements vs eye sores.

Parts of Main Street are under refurbishment/construction, Teacups are down for about a month, HM apparently has something going on, Pooh has walls around it, Small World is /was maybe still down, Peter Pan, Numerous stores and things around Fantasyland, bulldozers right at the back of the castle, huge pile of dirt and construction in the new FLE area and a list of other things that escape my mind right now.

I personally feel they are doing too much at once and its taking away from the overall experience. the Bus area over at MK has had work going on for a while now and looking down from the monorail it doesnt seem like they are doing much, over at TTC the Coffee place has gone and been replaced by a nice big wall and once again looking down from the Monorail nothing has even been done in there.

If they are going all out working getting these things done then I guess it would be different however many of these projects are just sitting there idle without any real progress being made.

I agree with that. It also helps keep people employed at a time when not a lot is being invested in construction. I would rather see lots of walls and tarps this year and next year, and then be done with it (to the extent that it's ever really "done")... rather than tarps and walls here and there for the next 10 years.

I read somewhere (on twitter I think) that there are rumors of more work being done on HM starting in January! :sad2: I sure hope its up and running again by the last week of February for my trip... or I will be mighty disappointed!! Its one of my very favorites!

I was just at WDW on Sunday and I can't recall any construction. Granted, we were in a hurry, but if anything, there may have been a wall where the FP used to be distributed. Nothing that I can remember in the queue. All of the tombstones were in place and there was no construction wall around them.

There is no need for this at HM the only place this stuff should be done is attractions that always have extremely long lines.

Funny, some people want Disney to improve its parks.

Define extremely long lines? I was at MK on the 19th and the line was 45 minutes long for HM. It's a popular ride, yes it can handle a lot of guests because of the ride technology, but it still can develop a quite a long wait, even in a "slower" season.

If the build out is going to ruin a person's vacation, they probably shouldn't go. Things happen and you either go with the flow and just enjoy what is there or sit back and hate every minute. Disney does an overall great job of construction pretty well hidden, including the tarping down Main Street USA, etc, and personally I believe the "eye sores" are pretty small in the grand scheme of things.

I have to respectfully disagree but thats what is great about life, we all have our own ideas and perspectives on things :thumbsup2

Personally I've been inside the parks more times than I can count so I am probably a little less frustrated by these things although I wish they would finish something and then move on to the next thing rather than have a bunch of things going on at once.

First time visitors are expecting near perfection and with the sheer amount of eye sores that are currently spread out around MK in particular its kind of hard for people to fully immerse themselves into the fantasy land that they were expecting.

I couldn't agree more that things need fixed, upgraded and improved around MK I just personally feel that they are doing too much at one time. As I said before in one of my previous posts the Bus area over at MK and the Coffee Stand area over at TTC have been closed off and nothing really done in weeks.

Just my opinion and thoughts , obviously there are quite a few others who disagree with what I am saying and thats fine as well, the world would sure be a boring place if we all thought alike.

Due to the fact that they are tearing out all of the classic graves I don't see this as an improvement.

Even on the busiest day of the year New Years Eve with the line streching to FRTL the wait for this ride us never over 30. It has a huge capacity and is an omnimover.

This makes sense at RNRC and Splash not on HM IMO.

We were just there 9/18- 9/25 and there was alot of construction... didn't bother us so much, because this was trip number 7 for us, but when we arrived at magic kingdom, and made the turn on to Main Street to gaze at the castle.. there was a HUGE crane with a big basket thing on it directly to the right of the castle and something else behind it. I thought this sucked for those that were visiting for the first time and were wanting to get "THE" picture of their family in front of the castle. It was HUGE! They would take it down everyday around 4:00, but it was back up the next morning, every day we were there. The tarps on main street, and in fantasy land were no big deal, and there was no construction on HM yet. I hope they finish up soon!

As of Sunday October 3, there was not a construction wall around the classic graves. I know for a fact because we got stopped in the queue right by the graves.

Ok as of then :confused3

And this is why Disney has such a hard time ever doing anything. No one ever wants "the classic" replaced.

No don't get me wrong classics should always be plussed this isn't plussing IMO.

You had stated in an earlier post that Disney was tearing out all of the orginal gravestones - I was just pointing out the fact that as of this weekend, there was no construction wall around that area. That's all...I'm not sure what is so confusing about that? :confused3

I think I said they will be tearing them out not that work had begun.
