Wonder what rides will remain closed and if this will apply to WDW as well
Talk about an article that has no real information and says nothing new . Basically reporting that Disneyland put a "disclaimer" on their website (same one Disney World has had). A whole story restating the "some things may be limited and restricted" that pretty much everyone knows that ANY business in the world will reopen with. It's only news when they say WHAT SPECIFICALLY will be restricted or limited and WHEN.

Or even better, they can have one party per vehicle and go all Oprah: "and you get to be a pilot, and you get to be a pilot, and you get to be a pilot..." (my family are 4, so we would probably not be placed with another party of 2).

My guess would be a combination - Two parties of 2 or 1 with no one in the middle seats or one family per vehicle for groups of 3 or more. I hope they have a way to adjust the settings so that the autopilot does a better job taking over the empty seats, though, because it's not great at it. I once ended up as a pilot with one other single rider and for some reason no one else riding with us (no idea why) and even though the two of us flew well, we still only won 1 cartridge because the computer / Hondo was doing such a poor job with the gunner and engineer positions. It was a strange experience.

I wouldn’t be surprised if they modify it to be more like Mission:Space, where you get the same exact experience from the autopilot that you do from people doing their job correctly. I can possibly even see them ONLY having autopilot to discourage people from touching the controls.

And this is exactly why I think Disney should refund money for tickets not being used - ( even if the buyer is the one that cancelled their trip - not necessarily Disney -
In so many cases , tickets are bought months (sometimes a year) in advance - my trip was booked early January -
I totally understand the rules ( tickets are non-refundable and non-transferable)
But this is a different animal - no one could have predicted this pandemic, and the way the experience would be affected

If I booked a hall for a wedding, and the place was.destroyed by a hurricane - I wouldn't expect to still have my wedding wading thru 3 feet of water -

Paying 100% for a 25% (or less) experience) is tough for most ppl

Please no flames

Couldn't Smugglers Run just be the 1st and 3rd row because they are spaced out far enough? Then just wipe down the buttons between rides?
My DD is stressed out about the operations of MFSR, they were drilled on efficiency and how they only have 45 seconds to load the capsule, check the restraints and send it off. They had been winning in the efficiency side, even against DL MFSR, she really doesn't want to deal with long lines now, but it might be needed for the time being
I honestly don't think they need to skip a row, it's not 6ft but if people are required to wear masks the attraction is not that long.

That is how most of these stories are. Complete waste of time.

This is how most of media stories are written nowadays. Waste of time.

I think they should extend the expiration date out two years like Southwest airline is doing.

Ive read people have been successful getting refunds for tickets purchased from Disney when they’ve reached out directly.

At the very least, even the tickets expire they turn into a credit and aren’t lost. I’d like if they extended expiry though or even just turned them non expiry. Disney is a company I wouldn’t mind not getting a full refund from as I know without a doubt they will be around to make good on tickets or credits and I will definitely need them again eventually.

It will be interesting to see how rides in general work out during this time. (And hopefully a lot of these measures are VERY temporary).

While, you'd expect, that the number of people in queues will be lower because of reduced capacity (either forced or just less people wanting to vacation there for a while). BUT, those people are spread out in the queue, which means it will take longer to get people onto ride vehicles because they have to take a few extra steps to "catch up".

What do they do about normally crowded pre-show rooms? (like Haunted Mansion and MFSR) If they don't pack those to capacity (usually you are shoulder to shoulder in those), won't the ride be loading slower? Without the pre-show those attractions lose a LOT that makes them unique.

If some attractions and restaurants are closed .. even if park capacity is lower, people will still be "crowded" in ride queues because just less places to go.

Well, not everyone constantly peruses Disney fan boards or even checks the Disneyland app often. Some may rely on big publications like THR, etc. for their news. Just because you already knew this information doesn't mean others did. :)

I think the preshows will still happen but as you said with lower capacity, it won't really affect the load time because after the pre show there is still another short wait time before the actual loading.

There is no doubt that we will be in wdw again down the road - we just love it too much to stay away - but I just think, at this time, the refund should be an option

A will definitely be calling to see if I have any success with a refund

taht's a good point - if you just take out the "filling the cabin" with single riders or pairing folks, then you dont' have to worry about the distancing ... and would thinkt hey would be able to wipe down the buttons and stuff between rides (and the latest from the CDC seems to indicate not as transmissable through surface contact as previously thought so maybe not AS critical to really fully disinfect between groups)
