Rumor about “modified experiences” when Disney reopens (read 1st post for potential modifications being considered)

My Minnie ears stay on pretty decently on rides and those are obviously just tight not looped. Also heavier and on top of my head not pressed against my face.

That said, I know some people have a real desire to see masks be a huge failure and are grasping at straws.

What rides are you taking your minnie ears on? If you tilt your head down on mako going 70+ mph it can hit it like a sail and fly off.

If it doesn't fly off the mask will get pushed into your mouth and soil the mask. You shouldn't be wearing a mask that has saliva on it.

I'll take one for the team and once Seaworld opens I will test out different masks and report back.

Most thrill rides at Disney don’t approach anywhere near that speed. I think the only exceptions are TT, RnRC, and maybe Everest (not sure how fast it goes), and I take them off on there.

Regardless, they would fly off much easier than a mask.

My teen daughter forgot to take her hat off at Splash Mtn recently and lost her hat. But we do have a very funny picture of it flying off during the drop and her reaching for it. Anyway, we asked the CMs what to do and they were 100% unfazed and said it happens all the time and they have special nightly debris removal equipment in place but to not expect to get it back even though we could check with lost and found. So they are designed to capture debris.

It’s just like everything else. There are people on here who I agree with, people on here I don’t. That’s life some follow rules some don’t. If we disagree on likes, dislikes, risks, treatments etc. like I said that’s life
And each person has to decide if they want to go to Disney and could be influenced in their decision by a thousand different things. To each their own. Under the circumstances as presently expected I would postpone. If somebody would go, great
But the troubling and disheartening thing here is not the disagreement. It’s the need of some to paint the opposite view as stupid, afraid to live life, and any other negative term. I find the “open and up and go asap” crew to generally be dismissive and condescending towards the more cautious group. Not all. Emblematic of what’s going on in the US with just about everything. Prison of 2 ideas. Open up and kill people or stay closed and kill people financially. No room for nuance, open safely and cautiously. I appreciate you guys and the countless others here who can reasonably discuss this stuff. As for the others, that is what “ignore” is for
Couldn’t it also be said that some feel the need to paint “the other side” reckless & selfish?

On the flipside, there is no benefit to say there is going to be a "second wave" when nobody knows if this is true. But I know the media wants to keep the fear alive.

Rather I think they are trying to warn people that this may not be over for a while. It doesn't pay anyone to get complacent, and I am seeing that a lot.

The media has problems but they didn't invent the idea of a second wave. That came from public health organizations that are using existing data about this virus plus historical data about other viruses and infectious disease. And no one is saying they know anything with 100% certainty, but it would not be good business not to take the more conservative approach given what public health orgs are saying.

Guessing refillable mugs and Chef Mickey buffet type meals won't be happening either. What other meals/restaurants would have this problem? A lot could be separated by family like HoopDeeDoo and Spirit of Aloha if they felt comfortable doing that.

I agree with your statement and would extend it to the immunity issue. No one knows whether the antibodies they are seeing in patients who have recovered from Covid are temporary or permanent. Rather as seeing that information in the media as fear-inducing, I see it as information that can assist me in understanding what is happening and thus with my future plans, whether it's for extended travel or the trip to the grocery store.

I worry about Hoop Dee Doo. I feel like Disney has wanted to cancel them for a while and will use this as an excuse to get rid of them once and for all.

I don't know that I agree with saying Disney has wanted to cancel them - they've been around forever and when there was a mild rumor about shutting them down didn't WDW come out and say NOPE not happening. I can see it still working if they didn't cram so many people in there - i wonder how far particles travel when you're singing HOOP DEE HOOP DEE HOOP DEE DOOO at the top of your lungs?

I just thought of something else - I'll be ice makers will be deactivated. That sucks. My routine is to fill our Hydroflasks with ice to drink water throughout the day. That's going to suck - if we even get to go. I wonder how coffee will be handled if no coffee makers in the room?

A Silicone icecube tray might be good to pack.
