Rumor about “modified experiences” when Disney reopens (read 1st post for potential modifications being considered)

Masks are going to be flying off all the time, get stuck in the machinery, going to be a maintenance nightmare
As much as I don’t want to suck my mask in on a ride I just don’t know about this as this just hasn’t been done before...

Disney Springs will be fine and plenty busy even before then, there are a lot of bored people and shopping is entertainment.
True . .that's hard to tell what the "general sentiment" is about going out right now UNTIL more things open. We've been so frozen by fear the last two months, it's hard to imagine people going out in public places, but the more I think about it, a lot (a vast, vast majority) have not been directly impacted by the virus itself (as in they haven't gotten, don't know anyone who has gotten it) and thus are probably very confident in getting out there again to shop/eat (a very good thing).

Obviously why they are testing these things. The image doesn’t mean that’s what they are going with for sure.

Exactly.

Some people didn’t think they would ever possibly require a mask on a thrill ride, but clearly parks are exploring the possibility.

It’s good SW is testing with people wearing different kinds styles of masks.

Masks are going to be flying off all the time, get stuck in the machinery, going to be a maintenance nightmare, glasses don't catch the wind and are much heavier than masks, the KN95's worn correctly will be fine, bandannas and loose masks will be problematic.
Eh, I've never lost a pair of glasses on any ride and I never take them off. If you've got a mask hooked over your ears or tied in the back, they aren't going anywhere. Doesn't matter- that's what they're requiring.

College football went to a clear bag policy several years ago. As a season ticket holder, I wasn’t crazy about the change at first. It helps speed things up, and I‘m good with it now.

Same. You get good at "hiding" things you may not want others to see if you get the right kind of bag. It doesn't bother me anymore either.

Its funny cause there is pictures of people in China riding coasters with masks on and I have never heard of them flying off. I have ride coasters all summer usually have never lost my glasses on one. Masks would be no different.

Any word on what Seaworlds plans are? I assume they were part of the mayors request for planning the other day?

Like others have mentioned they are testing these, nothing is for sure yet. But if it works I could see them doing this

My Minnie ears stay on pretty decently on rides and those are obviously just tight not looped. Also heavier and on top of my head not pressed against my face.

That said, I know some people have a real desire to see masks be a huge failure and are grasping at straws.

I know they’re decreasing ride capacity- but dang. It really hits you to see it in action. I know that’s 50% capacity but it really looks like Why Bother To Open? capacity...

I would assume that families/groups can still sit together. So my family of 4 should be allowed to sit in the same car/row/etc. which would help with ride capacity a bit.

which totally negates the reason for the clear bag policy and shows why it is silly

My understanding for the clear bag requirement would be to limit CMs having to touch your stuff at bag checks. Once you were in the park, I don't think they would care if you put the clear bag in another bag.

My only dealbreaker would be normal sized crowds. I normally stay away from Disney due to the crowds. Went the day after Irma and it was great! I could actually see all the details. I could get on any ride with a wait of 15 minutes or less. It was truely magical.

There may be fewer people in the parks, but if they are only seating people every other row on rides, waits will still be equally long.

If they reduce ride capacity 50% but reduce park capacity like they did SDL, waits shouldn't be bad at all.

Remember that's just a test. A household of 4 could all fill one row. The distancing is for different parties. Things will stink for single riders for a while.....

Looking at the list of all the restaurants opening tomorrow in DS which is a big list, standouts not opening for me was Splitsville and Homecomin' wondered why they weren't opening. Missed the news that they terminated all their employees back in March, not furloughed, bet they have to hire an all-new staff and train them, that will take a bit.

I personally had crossed these off my future list when I heard about the terminations, but that's just me.

Disney parks in Asia never seem to have a problem with this, and mask wearing has been commonplace for years there.
