I've been following this thread from the get-go due to planned trip June 19-24. Please don't weigh in on the probability of that as I am well aware- I wanted to try to summarize what I have heard suggested that sounded within the realm of possibility as far as modified experiences and throw in my opinions and reason behind them-granted I have not studied all 600+ pages here, and I am not discussing masks as that to me is a given-
1. No fireworks-probably, it would save money.
2.No parades-probably, very hard to socially distance but not impossible with limited capacity-brings me to--
3.Limited capacity-definitely-I feel resort guests will make reservations for which park they want to attend which day, and also AP. Limiting resort bookings will help limit capacity, and no day guests except AP holders with reservations.
4.Limited resort openings- probably-and to keep people from complaining about not getting "their" resort, I think they will all be deluxe or moderate with possible free upgrades offered. IE, giving all preferred rooms or water/garden views.
5.No pools at resorts-Unlikely-pool grounds are easy to socially distance through seating, and chlorine and sunlight kills it. Lifeguards may warn people to not get close if they see it happening, but pools will be safer than parks IMO-Water parks are another story and will likely stay closed.
6. No Table service-also unlikely as TS restaurants are easier to maintain social distance through seating arrangements. I can see limited quick service open and only ordering through
MDE app. I can also see limited table service openings, controlled through ADR's, and offering a couple of choices of substitute restaurants if yours is not going to be open. I think the most popular, like Sci-Fi , will not be closed. I also am sure buffets will not be self serve. Even our local buffets are going the way of ordering from the table or someone serving your plate as you pass by behing the glass.
7. Nighttime shows like Fantasmic or Rivers of Light-Possibly, because easy to maintain social distancing by blocking off seats, sending people to areas for two, three, four, or five or more seat groupings .Also they are outdoors-
8. All parks open-doubtful, I am in the Epcot may be closed category, but it is more likely some experiences at the parks will be closed which will mean fewer CM's needed. I do not believe many people will want to stay in a resort for only two parks. This leads into-
9. Theater shows not open-probably. This makes me sad, as I have seen Tike Birds every time I have been to Disney since 1972. But few are that popular, or at least have long waits which would indicate their popularity. The exception may be outdoor theater shows, like the UP bird show and Beauty and the Beast.
10. Shows involving 3D glasses-Likely open, you can wipe those down with a clorox wipe and they'll be fine.
11. Socially distancing on rides and in lines-definitely. They will have well marked areas in which you are allowed to stand, rides will be disinfected between guests though some sort of fogger. And CM's will be 10 times as diligent to have people escorted from the park who are breaking lines/rules as this is serious stuff here. I think quests will sign off on these things saying they understand they will be not permitted to stay if they break the rules.
12. Temperature checks-probably, as they are doing it with touchless thermometers here in restaurants
I want to stress this is my OPINION-no need to quote my post saying yours is different. I have probably read yours or one like it somewhere a few hundred pages back! We are all just speculating here! I was just trying to consolidate the different scenarios. And no one really knows that much for sure yet! I would like to know if there is a situation I forgot about (except MASKS!)
I appreciate the mods on these boards through these crazy times-
