Rumor about “modified experiences” when Disney reopens (read 1st post for potential modifications being considered)

So I was reading the first page with all the updates, and one I saw about Universal and mentioned rumored with Disney to is about nothing indoors.

Does that mean rides like the Mummy at Universal, Rise of the Resistance in HS, Flight of Passage wouldn't be operational?
Ive seen that rumor but it doesn’t make sense for either but especially not for Universal. Universal would be left with about six rides open.

Has this been mentioned - serious illness and deaths are dis-proportionally skewed towards high density areas where people rely on public transportation. Could we possibly see WDW open without the monorail, buses and even the skyliner?

I’m interested to see how things work when Shanghai opens. They tested social distancing practices with parades and shows. Their parade route though is the longest of any Disney park.
Do you know what parade practices they tested? I’m really curious about this as well since I can’t even imagine how it would work at DL.

The route is short and it’s always completely jammed with people. If they require any kind of social distancing it seems like there will be no way to accommodate everyone who wants to view a parade even if park capacity is limited.

I suppose one solution would be to actually run the parade MORE times than usual in a day, to allow for more viewing opportunities.

I do not know all the details just reports are they were testing both. I’d imagine they looked at several things. Obviously everything that works in Shanghai may not work here.

Buena Vista Construction is Disney's internal company which does small projects such as maintenance throughout the resort, painting, smaller concrete work, etc. Your major projects like Reflections, Ratatouille, etc. are done by outside vendors.
I wonder if they would want to wait until these guys are back and caught up on backlog of work before reopening

It's been mentioned many, many times.
Apologies - at 92 pages this thread is TL;DR. Have not seen it mentioned in Youtube videos. I'm one of those people who love being "in the bubble" so would miss the on-site transportation, but it would not be a deal-breaker. It would actually make it easier to make rope-drops and get food for the DVC.

Would running the parade more often really help though?

I mean, using mnsshp as an example where the parade runs twice, many people just seem to watch it twice!

There is a rumor that only certain types of transit will be open and another one that says the only transportation opened will be personal cars. And the one that says everything will be open.

Idk if it makes rope drop easier if every single family has to drive a car there...

I'm not quite sure I'm ready to swim from Fort Wilderness just yet. Especially with this quarantine snacking going on.

I didn't see the personal cars only rumor! So we'd all be required to rent a car? I don't think I'd like that at all! I like to enjoy a cocktail (or 3) at night...

That's one thing she's doing so I can use masks I already have (but again, headbands are a problem with the fact I have a big head and lots of hair, they pop right off half the time and give me a headache if they don't). She sews, I don't, so she's just making ties longer for me and making them in Disney fabrics she had left over from a project she did for my daughters. I know masks can be helpful, but I'm really hoping they don't make them mandatory. Also hoping that by the time I go there will be some decent antibody tests being performed, and proof of a high antibody count or something can be used in lieu of a mask (since I already had the virus, and more than a mild illness at that). We'll just have to see at that point, but I have a feeling I'll be sweating through my masks every day.
i do not know where my sister in law found the head band pattern she used but there is no elastic size could be made to fit any head.

Its why it was bad for the to encourage it from the beginning. They are going to have a lot of upset people on their hands.

not if they open June 1.

I take that back. They’ll have a lot of people angry regardless what they do, but people who have made June reservations don’t be angry if they open on the first. It’s still 33 days away, and a lot has changed just since Easter.

The governor has said that bars and nightclubs will be among the last to open.

If Disney wants to force people to rent cars they can pay for it and waive their stupid parking fees at the resorts.

I think they already waive park parking fees for resort guests— that’s what we usually do because nothing ruins a vacation faster than Disney busses. 😀 I’d be amazed if they didn’t waive them for resort guests regardless of what they do with transportation.

So Disney won't serve any alcohol?
I don't know, I'm assuming. one of the executive orders calls for no sale of alcohol unless it's in sealed containers. And no consumption of alcohol in restaurants and bars It's been in effect since March 20th
Just to add the executive order is set to expire May 9th unless it's extended, but he has said that bars will be one of the last things to reopen
