Hopefully we will get at least one relevant piece of info from that tomorrow then -- when they will be open (and to who (cast members, locals, AP holders, regular public). But I doubt we'll get the info that a lot of the people (who have vacations after whenever this date is) are waiting for: What the parks will be LIKE besides some of the safety measures. (Like which attractions will be open or closed, how will the "planning" things be handled, how will "limited capacity" be handled etc.).Mayor just said disney and seaworld presenting tomorrow!
Based on the crowds at beaches this weekend, I really don’t think they are going to have an issue attracting crowds. It’s the financial aspect of taking a vacation that may be a challenge for people.Hopefully we will get at least one relevant piece of info from that tomorrow then -- when they will be open (and to who (cast members, locals, AP holders, regular public). Who knows . may get more info, but it will be probably be very similar to what it is like at Disney Springs. Like I said before .. I just hope this is all temporary . .because until things turn more "normal" .. these tourist destinations are going to struggle to draw people because of the fear and restrictions. Or .. if people do show up in droves -- the restrictions just won't work. There will just be too many people.
I don't think it will work both ways (having a ton of tourists AND having socially distant restrictions and mask requirements).
I'm going to watch just for the entertainment value. I would not hope too much. Disney's communication up to this point has been lackluster. With an upcoming stay in mid-July I have the same concerns as you. Good or bad I just want to know what the rules will be. I've got expiring DVC points so I'm stuck, but if it's too crazy I will just eat the points. |

WOWZA. Talk about making it official
Fo' shizzle.Well, not being one to toot my own horn but I kinda figure they got wind of my earlier guilt laying post about crapping on the local economy that most likely pushed them into action.
Don't ya think?

Right .. and if the crowds come .. masks and social distancing just won't work (won't be enforceable or just physically possible)Based on the crowds at beaches this weekend, I really don’t think they are going to have an issue attracting crowds. Agree .. I'm not sold that people will want to come to Florida for a theme park vacation if it is going to require wearing a hot mask, have their months of planning disrupted, have to be "socially distant" which will inevitably create longer lines in the hot sun, and have a lot of the indoor (aka "cool") attractions and restaurants potentially be closed .... especially at "pre-COVID" prices. Sure there will be some that will still come, but will there be enough for the parks to profit .. and for those that DO come, will they come away with general dissatisfaction and regret? (not something a vacation destination wants guests going away with). The M word will keep people away. I'm seeing the six flags feed today flooded with complaints over that requirement after their announcement this morning.
Beat me by a minute....lolMayor just said disney and seaworld presenting tomorrow!
I am not starting the great mask debate. The theme parks can require them all they want, I am just saying I hope they are very temporary, because they will probably find out it is too hard to make a lot of people comply (especially when "back home" they aren't required to wear masks most places) OR the requirement will keep people away.
