Rumor about “modified experiences” when Disney reopens (read 1st post for potential modifications being considered)

Anyone taking guesses as to which parks will open first? Or which won't open immediately?

My money's on MK and AK opening first, EP staying closed until Fall, and DHS being a tossup. Also, no waterparks for a while.
That sure could be but I recall someone had a rumor about only the Epcot World Showcase and HS for starters. That almost makes sense to me too, I mean at least in regards to crowd control, (Well, maybe HS being an exception there).
It's just at MK it seems it would be hard to avoid the big crowd at the entrance, but who knows. Will be interesting to hear the plan tomorrow.

I'm interested to hear about MK too because just the nature of getting to the park entrance doesn't really allow for social distancing...but with reduced capacity (reduced crowds) it may be possible. Who knows?

Maybe MK for only resort guests at first. Then they wouldn’t have to get all those people from the TTC to the park. Just a thought. Not that I like it.

They cant open without MK. To many people that IS Disney World.

I have both of these thoughts - in some ways MK would be the hardest to make "fit" for reopening (just transporation to the park and then also the most things/attractions to operate and keep sanitary) - but it just seems weird to reopen WDW and NOT have MK open

I could see MK and DHS - help spread the crowd and then you at least have one park near the Boardwalk resorts

Honestly not sure how hard/easy Animal Kingdom would be compared to the other attractions as far as the animals and stuff

It’s pretty much a ride to get into the park. This was prototyped at DL, where it’s an optional way to get into the park.

I don't know if the phased reopening plan is still a thing now with Universal opening all parks including the water park. Why go to Disney for half their parks when you can go to Universal and get the full experience?

Disney Parks News' official tweet did say they're presenting details regarding their "phased reopening" tomorrow, but we won't know until tomorrow what exactly that is referring to.

Because I like half of Disney better than all of Universal? They are two completely different experiences. Universal can’t replace Disney anymore than Disney can replace Universal. Personally, I think all the parks will open.

Very interesting and understandable. If this is truly the case, I think Disney is being very responsible and cautious. Universal COULD be seen as being reckless.

How about Universal cares about its employees and kept them on the payroll. Universal treated it's employees liked humans in a crises not numbers on a balance sheet.

Disney executives don't care about middle and lower level employees and just them go , many to the horrible Florida unemployment system ranked one of the worst in the country.

I look at it from a value perspective. I wouldn't pay my lawn guy to mow half my yard because I like his mower better.

That's the way I saw it also. I think Universal showed industry leadership by coming up with a plan. Disney is playing catch up.

I've got a family member who works at Disney. They have been left in the dark with no communication from Disney at all. Sad

Did I read correctly that Disney has been inspected already? Or do they still have to go through that process?

I'm going to watch just for the entertainment value.

I would not hope too much. Disney's communication up to this point has been lackluster. With an upcoming stay in mid-July I have the same concerns as you. Good or bad I just want to know what the rules will be. I've got expiring DVC points so I'm stuck, but if it's too crazy I will just eat the points.

I'm in the same boat with expiring points. Hopefully the mask mandate is gone by our trip at the end of September or it's going to be Vero, RCI, or just eat the points.

@atricks said the OC department of health was on property today at WDW and SeaWorld doing their reopening-procedure-inspections, yes. Now they will have to present and have their reopening plans approved.
